Rather than sticking to the range of restaurants at Gunwharf we decided to dine here on the way back home. We have been before but probably 15 years ago! Not much has changed really. Dining room has been made a little less formal but still has that strange little waiting area. We had the 5 course tasting lunch menu for... More

Second visit to 36, and even better than I remember. A warm welcome, friendly service and just the right amount of attention. The food was spectacular! The flavour combinations were exquisite, exciting and very clever. If I had one negative, it would be that the ambience is somewhat cool.

This restaurant has had a Michelin star for 18 years, and the food really lives up to it. The mushroom risotto starter was absolutely gorgeous, although my husband found the pigeon a little rich. The main course of hake was delicious and had interesting flavours with wild garlic. We ordered the special Apple tart which is cooked to order and... More

The front of house service was impeccable and the table we had was private enough (next to a window which looks out on to the street) but the food was a real let down. The food is good and well cooked but a) there is simply too much of it and b) the flavours are bland and unexciting. The fresh... More

6 of us visited 36 on the Quay last Saturday evening (Jan 24th) for the first time, but with high expectations from all that we had heard. The location in Emsworth (UK) is great and in the summer you will have good views of the quay and all the activities that would bring with it. The food was very well... More

Lovely restaurant, good food, not very busy though which may be good or bad depending on chosen ambience, nonetheless a god dining experience. They need a little music in the background when the restaurant is so empty though to offset any eeriness

I booked Dinner & overnight stay (cinnamon suite) as a Christmas present. Last time I ate here was over 10 years ago and back then I was blown away and this trip didn't disappoint. From the start the staff were attentive showing us where to park the car.Room was snug but very clean with a breathtaking view of the water.... More

We had a very pleasant evening here with an old friend. There was nothing wrong with anything: service was amiable and efficient; drinks were served quickly; the menu was interesting and the wine list very reasonably priced. But nothing really seemed to gel, individual elements of our meals were fantastic but they didn't really seem to quite work together, and... More
