Four of us , all confirmed foodies , went to Restaurant 36 to celebrate a shared success. We were hoping for a memorable meal and we certainly got one. Really warm but efficient greeting - a theme continued throughout the evening by the service at the table. Interesting menu - scallop starters were a success and so was the confit... More

This was our first visit here for some time. We were not disappointed in any way .The food was excellent, service good and the whole evening was thoroughly enjoyable. All three courses were superb and we could not fault the service . I would highly recommend this place to anyone who loves great food .

Wanting to surprise my wife I had tried to book a room but unfortunately they we full, however there was room in the restaurant and again, and we have been visiting for over 10 years, Karen, Ramon and their team delivered some really wonderful food. Listening to the accolades of other diners, not eavesdropping I hasten to add, we were... More

This restaurant has a great reputation, beautifully presented food, atmosphere was a little stuffy....do M Stars change the atmosphere of a restaurant? Well done on expert dishes - works of art.

We visited this restaurant with friends during a weekend in Portsmouth. What a great find! Food was delicious and well presented. Staff were excellent - a good mix of professional yet friendly, efficient service. Wine list is a little on the pricey side - closer to London prices.

Our third visit to 36 on the Quay, but the first for several years, did not disappoint. Just as I remember, the food was incredible, the service was perfect and the ambience excellent. Such an experience going to a restaurant like this, one to be savoured and really enjoyed, which we did. I'd highly recommend this place for a special meal out.

We have been visiting 36 On The Quay since it opened, we have celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, engagements and graduations over the years and we have always been big fans of Ramon's cooking. We have visited twice in the last couple of months and both times we have been disappointed, following the loss of the star we were wondering what has... More

Managed to pop back for another very pleasant lunch. Tried the latest five course local/foraged tasting menu. Beautifully presented precise cooking with some bold and inventive combinations. Swede with whey, Pigeon Carpaccio with Sorrel and Apple came with lumps of a sort of hardened foam, sounds strange but was delightful. Roast Plaice with Alexanders and a sharp berry sauce. Neck... The restaurant is cosy but beatufully presented, the linen was of the highest standard. Staff were most attentive but not intrusive, but the food was superb can't recommend highly enough, will certainly make a point of returning although living many miles away
