Love the food here, well prepared with a great homemade home prepared elegance. Pate is exquisite! Steak cooked to perfection! Prices do reflect the quality though. So not for the faint of wallet!! Could benefit from being a little bigger but does add to the ambiance!

We were in the area on business so tried this restaurant on the street in Emsworth the first night; we enjoyed it so much we went back again the next night. The early bird menu of two courses plus bread for £14.95 made us wish we lived nearer. I had the home-smoked fish pie the first night with nicely cooked... More

We went to Spencer's to celebrate my leaving the Royal Navy after 34 years of service. Again, we had a fantastic evening with lovely food and good wine. The staff are very friendly but not imposing and leave you to enjoy your evening. We will be back as it is a nice place to spend an evening with your partner... More

Went on a weekday lunchtime and we were the only ones there so not really much atmosphere. However who cares when the food is absolutely superb! All of it seems to be made fresh and is of the highest quality and absolutely delicious. Service is superb too....thoroughly recommend it and we will return again.

you're not paying for the position or the decor at spencers; nothing badly wrong with either but nothing great. it's the preparation and presentation of the food that owner chef carey mcclean (she bought the place a few years ago after heading its kitchen for longer) rightly focuses on for her effort and talents. result: a good meal, served by... I first went to this restaurant 10 years ago and really enjoyed it and we went back last night. It was still a delight with great food and excellent service. They looked after our 2.5 year old and everyone had a good experience. We won't leave it so long next time.

I have not been to Spencers for probably seven years (the same owners, I believe for nearly 20) but what a lovely and pleasant suprise. We arrived early for our 7pm table and were offered their 'early dining menu', which offered excellent value. I had the most delicious homemade smoked mackerel pâté served with Melba toast. I followed this with... More

Ate in the downstairs brasserie (the menu upstairs is the same) and generally enjoyed dinner here. Not a lot of atmosphere as it was uncharacteristically quiet for a Saturday night but the staff were pleasant and mostly efficient (they initially brought the wrong soup for my partner). I had the avocado and tomato salad with mozzarella nicely dressed but with... More
