The location is lovely, the building itself is beautifully kept and the atmosphere is nice. The food menu is lovely and ideal for pub food but the service was extremely slow. Spoilt the evening slightly.

Interestingly, this restaurant is very close to another restaurant. However, drawn by the promise of lakeside views we went for Fishers Pond. Indeed, the views are stunning. You can sit inside or sit on a balcony overlooking the lake. So far so good. A quick glance over the menu and there was plenty on offer. So we decided to inquire... More

Just been here with my partner for our anniversary. Thought it would be nice sat outside by the lake, which it was. Everything else about the experience however was poor. The 'cheesy tear & share garlic bread' turned out to be cold bits of cheese on toast. I ordered the lamb for main, which was 90% fat and bone. My... More

We ate here late on a lovely sunny Sunday evening. We ordered a starter of bread and oil. The bread was stale. We sent it back and they said it was because it had been toasted. I can taste the difference between stale and toasted - it was stale. We were not offered our money back on the starter. We... More

We had had a disappointing meal here a few years ago and was not keen to return. But went with family and was pleasantly surprised. Decking was newly painted, coloured furniture, great location. We found a table easily, service was very good. My husband and I shared the carvery platter. Well presented, quality meat, fresh vegetables and crispy roasts, good... More

We were doing a nostalgic trip to the UK from Italy and decided to see what the Fishers Pond was like now, the last time we were here was more than 40 years ago. Well! What a change. Well worth the visit. A really lovely place, and nothing like the old pub. The only thing that was wrong was I... More

I decided to go to the fishers pond with my mum and dad as it was his birthday for a drink, we love to seat by the lake thats why we chose the fishers pond. We went to the bar where there wasnt anyone serving and we wondered if they were actually open after a little while we got served.... More

Arrived early on Sunday lunchtime where there was already a queue in the carpark to get in! The main attraction is the view of the pond; the restaurant is on a 'wait to be seated' basis and table service includes both bar and food service, all of which happened in good time. The drinks selection was the good and the... More

We really enjoyed our meal here yesterday. Had good food, the fish pie was excellent (hot chips are better though chef!) and were with wonderful company which always helps. Were served in a manner befitting the monarchy by Nick, the sweetest posh man ever, who was quite delightful and funny and should certainly be poached by somewhere more regal. He... More

Firstly, the food was tasteless and boring. The beef pie I had had 3 medium sized pieces of beef in and then packed out with mushrooms - poor considering the price. Cats wondering around the dining area - not really a good standard, as I'm allergic. After being offered any sauces I requested ketchup, only for them to bring a... More
