Lovely restaurant, beautiful view over lake/pond

I visited the Fishers Pond a few weeks ago with my other half. We've been wanting to go for a while but whenever we drove past the car park was always full to bursting (suggest booking during peak times) but we happened to be passing mid afternoon and they could fit us in. The staff are very... read more

Service was hit and miss, with lots of staff chatting behind the service area. No knowledge of wine that we ordered. The phone rang twice for a long period whilst we were there but it was ignored and a staff member was overheard saying "Don't answer we can't take any bookings anyway". The tear and share garlic bread was supposed... More

Party of 12 booked for 3pm, served at gone 4pm. Waiter was most unhelpful, no information on contents for food allergic children nor willing to find out. A couple of plates came out minus items with no alternatives offered, begrudgingly given when mentioned. Asked for no butter on potatoes and was huffed at! Totally ruined my mums 70th and aunties... My first time at this restaurant for Sunday Roast, our booking was at 4 pm so maybe it was the time of day. 3 of ordered the roast beet after a very nice seafood sharing starter. My beef was a bit well done for me and need more gravy which was willingly supplied my roast potatoes were not crispy, everything... More

Food was good but took too long to appear. the table we sat at was wooden with grooves in and the grooves were very dirty and full of food crumbs ! The view is lovely - over the lake.

We visited last weekend after an excellent meal a few months ago and it was pleasing to find that the standard of food on offer was still excellent. The Sunday roast was fabulous with lovely meat, vegetables and the option of pigs in blankets. My wife had the Chicken and Leek pie which was also very good. The dessert of... More

We went here today for Sunday lunch. We had booked a table, and was glad that we had as the car park was packed and we had a job to park. We were shown straight to our table even though we were early. Service was fairly quick considering how busy it was. We all had a roast, one Turkey, one... More

Went last night, had a table booked, were completely ignored when we arrived, had to go looking for someone to show us to our table, sat there for over twenty minutes, whilst again being completely ignored, in the end went to the bar to get our own drinks, when we finally managed to get someone's attention, we were told that... Ate here with my wife and 6 year old daughter at 6pm on a Saturday evening. Service was quick friendly and efficient and Michelle our waitress was great. We had cod and chips and for £12 I expected a little bit better. It was OK but no more than that. Kids meals are good so all in all just average... More
