We met a couple with whom we had been on a cruise three years ago for a catch-up. They chose the venue, being locals. The atmosphere is very friendly and the outdoor seating overlooks a huge lake. It's so peaceful and relaxing. The service was excellent unlike some of the reviews we've seen but maybe our sights are set a... More

It's not easy to give a poor rating but sadly although we have tried the fishers pond at least half a dozen times it's just not getting it right, it's great if you just want a drink in the sun by the pond . The view is beautiful. The problem is the quality of the food. Sunday lunch was so... More

We visited recently on a Sunday with the intention of trying the roast beef and were not disappointed. The beef itself was superb as were the vegetables and Yorkshire pudding. The cherry on top were the delicious roast spuds, which are often a let down when eating a Sunday roast at a pub or restaurant. The pigs in blankets as... More

We were shown to our table but unfortunately we then waited over 15 mins before a waitress came to our table (and just to annoy us even more some people who were seated after us were seen to before us!) From that point on everything was good, very good choice of dishes, good wine and good atmosphere.

I was here for my birthday. Beautiful pub. The food was excellent. The only down side was the staff. We had to wait ages for someone to take drinks order food order etc. The girl wasn't overly friendly and tried to avoid our eye contact. She didn't ask if the meal was ok or anything. It took ages to get... More

We came here with 3 children and 4 adults who were all tired and a little grumpy after a fabulous day at Marwell Zoo. The food came incredibly fast and was extremely tasty. It's often one or the other but we were very impressed. The kids portions were huge but excellent and staff were happy to get cold plates to... More

As this is a very busy restaraunt you may expect service to fall, however we have visited this vintage inn on many occasions and have always found the staff to be both patient and friendly no matter how busy.only acouple of negatives. The car park is not big enough on busy weekends and the " the chocolate fudge tower" is... More

August bank holiday. Rain. Booked table for 12.30 – our guest arrived just before 2!! Were we made to feel unwelcome? No. Did we get the impression that they wanted us out of the way for later bookings? No. When our guest arrived, did they serve us as if nothing had happened? Yes. And can they spell “ crème brûlée”... More

This wasn't the first time I had been to Fishers Pond but found this time the service was second to none! Two members of staff attended our table, one for drinks order and the other waiter to take our food order. Both were polite and smiling throughout. We ordered 3 light lunches and 2 fish and chips. All our meals... More
