Best cake!

I've been here several times, for coffee and a cake as well as lunch ( jacket potato, sandwich etc) it's a lovely place which is obviously very popular but we have never had trouble finding a seat. The cake here is simply amazing, so much choice, 3 storeys high! There is so much to choose from on... read more

Brilliant place for food but do not be in a hurry, they cook fresh. I had eggs Benedict lovely and the milkshake was just right. Good menu lovely setting in the garden centre -Arturis on Allington lane. It's worth going here to look around and have something to eat

Took a friend with us today and his comments prompted me to remember and write this review. We found this place by accident well over a year ago ..we visit whenever we're in the area. Roughly once a fortnight. We've never had any cause to complain ( and if you knew me.... that's rare...I can usually find something) only reason... More

Made more visits for afternoon tea, but also had lunch there, went there once with a large group for a birthday tea, the food and service has always been good. Different from a normal tea room. Had lunch with family group and the all age groups were happy with the food. The location is in an old orangery with a... More

Visited the the orangery today not one of there better days. My husband ordered two sausage sandwiches and 1 sausage and bacon sandwich which he paid extra for the bacon ( this not being a problem) the problem is that when you get 2 sausages in one sandwich, but only one in the bacon one this is not value for... The problem with most tea rooms is your choice is limited to a few cellophaned muffins or a microwave jacket potato with some limp lettuce. That's exactly what you won't find here. Fresh food made onsite going from the gorgeous afternoon tea to a full meal. I've yet to find fault with anything served on the menu and the value... More

I have eaten at the Orangery several times now. It is always a pleasant, informal experience with a great selection off options, jacket potatoes, baguettes, salads etc. Their cakes are superb and the service is warm and friendly. It can get a little busy at times but that is a testament to their success.

We had pre-booked the Christmas menu for 4 people in October. We had been the year before and enjoyed it immensely. When we arrived we where greeted like long lost friends and the restaurant was decorated beautifully and In keeping with the season We had been asked to arrive at 12.30, which we did. A family we had seen the... More

We both had the same, the pork special for £5 which included a pot of tea which did 3 cups each. For the money a great meal. Nice sauce and great potatoes, nice to see some veg on the menu too. Not a massive issue but would watch where u sit as air con can drip down. We did not... More
