The name ‘Moldy Fig’ has its origins in jazz & was a derogatory term used by ‘be bop/modernists’ for enthusiasts of New Orleans & earlier forms of jazz. With walls that tell a thousand stories of the venue’s rich and diverse heritage, the Moldy Fig Wine Bar at The Concorde adjoins the main venue and offers a welcoming, relaxed ambiance, gorgeous homemade food, afternoon tea’s, fine wines and local real ales. It’s the ideal choice for laid-back dining – whether for business, pleasure or a bit of both! When the weather permits sit back, relax and soak up the summer sun with a drink, a meal or afternoon tea on our charming woodland terrace and riverside patio. Open all day, from breakfast ‘til late.

Lovely Sunday lunch, with a visitor from Spain who enjoyed it as much as we did.

Excellent food and service, more than one step up from pubs and chains. One thing we like about this venue (and the Concorde Club attached) is that it is totally wheelchair accessible. noticing the less than favorable review just posted by Carol H, I must admit as something of a regular here that the food has been very 'hit and miss' over recent years. However, today my lunchtime Lasagne with Garlic Bread for less than £10 was surprisingly good and excellent value. The redeeming feature here in my view has always been... More

We visited the Moldy Fig on Friday 20th Nov as part of a Retirement Celebration of approx 30 colleagues. Firstly even though we had to pre-order our meals the choice of menu was very limited. For the main course I had piri piri chicken which was served with chips and baby corn. The chicken was very dry and tough, the... More

Organised a surprise 60th Birthday for my mum at the weekend. The staff at the Concorde and Moldy Fig looked after us really really well. They managed to squeeze a table of 21 in with only a couple of weeks notice. This probably affected how much space there was for dancing (Simply Red Tribute Act) The food was pretty average... More

Visited on bank holiday with friends staying at the hotel. No booking needed. Good menu especially the ham, egg and chips and butterfly chicken. Downside was no child's menu which is unusual now. My 9 year old had the fish pie but not surprisingly didn't eat it all. Good service. Would go back.

Food was delicious and very good value for money. The restaurant is decorated with lots of 'Jazz' stuff. The staff were very friendly.
