I visited here with my husband and children, upon arrival I was greeted with a smile, and pleasant words, to then which we were taken to a table, within a couple of minutes were served with drinks and a food order was taken, whilst waiting for the food the children were able to play on the outside play area. The... More

I called in for dinner & did not have a pleasant experience! It's a big pub that was pretty much empty and therefore completely lacked any atmosphere. I picked fish and chips. The fish was massive (as advertised), but was grey and pretty tasteless, chips were pretty good. The staff were a bit abrupt and not particularly welcoming! I'd probably... More

Had lunch here for a change from the fishers pond, started off on a bad foot when the bar person was very cocky and arrogant but we persevered and ordered lunch. Had burgers which were poor presentation and not worth the money. To top it all off the tables were not cleared for a good 35 minutes and it was... More

We have passed this pub so many times but never been in. Always seems very quiet but we had just been to Marwell Zoo and thought why not..... Very clean inside and out staff extremely friendly and the food with service was excellent. For 5 meals with drinks our bill came to just under £33 which we enjoyed thoroughly. As... More

I am a local but was disgusted today. In front of the bar are two settees with tables for drinks and eating. The staff walked by for a whole hour with a man with his feet on the table. The souls were incrusted with all sorts of S**t and nobody said a word to him. If this is OK, God... More

Overall had a bad experience. Not only do the staff lie to you, but since they have changed ownership they don't seem to care for customers. I feel really let down and to be honest I don't want to talk about it anymore. :-(

I nipped in here for dinner with 3 colleagues. Service was impeccable; we even got treated to a local history lesson. Real Ale and proper food!

We had our classic car club meet here one evening. By prior arrangement a dining area had been set aside for those members wishing to eat. There is quite a good selection on the menu, although pretty much what you would expect for pub grub. By and large the food looked good; I had the 2 course menu at £9.95... More
