Good food. Staff friendly. Awkward lighting. Very quiet

The food was fine; nothing spectacular, maybe a tad overpriced on the mains, but good nonetheless. Staff were friendly and helpful. I found the lighting awkward; a bit too dim but harsh. Softer, warmer lighting would make the atmosphere much nicer. Dead quiet.

Starters - Baked Brie very good but too much garlic, Squid over cooked however I have not found a restaurant that can cook it yet! The salad for both starters 10/10. Main -Crab Linguine - this was definitely LOST IN SPICE, although really good flavours the main ingredient couldn't be found. The Pork - excellent although more would have been... More

Visited for Boxing Day champagne breakfast and what a disappointment! Went with friends and it was a farce from the onset giving them flat champagne and loosing ours orders that we had emailed. Food very poor standard, horrid processed white bread, with the rest of the breakfast of low quality. Plates not cleaned away until we asked, sugar bowl empty... More

A meal for six excellent food and service very helpful staff, the only criticism was that the heating was off and it was cold.

Was not crowded and on a cold mid week night was a different experience to our last visit on a summers day. Still a bit out of the way but the car park is big enough. The staff were attentive and the food was delicious and to be highly recommended.

This was our first visit and the pub is in a lovely location. We were served with delicious complimentary bread and olives on arrival whilst choosing our mains. The menu was satisfactorily varied but there could have been more vegetarian options. The Sunday roasts were really nice and more than adequate as we couldn't manage all of the vegetables. Desserts... More

We had a very nice Champagne brunch here on New Years Day. Staff were tired after a busy NYE but were very thoughtful and we had good service. The full English was cooked to perfection for me and my family and we very much enjoyed the brunch. There are very mixed reviews on here but I can only say that... More

Visited for a quick lunch before Christmas despite being told it had got even worse. No one else in the place. The sign outside has fallen down and has been like that for weeks? Which just about sums up the decline of this once great pub. A great shame but as l say it is now dreadful

Visited today. Lovely quaint building in lovely quite rural setting. Went for a snack lunch. We ordered a white wine spritzer. The waitress/barmaid did not know how to make one and as we could clearly hear someone giving her instructions behind the bar. When it arrived it was two thirds soda and has to be sent back. The coronation chicken... More
