Service, Staff, and Food was very good

My wife me and two friends booked a table for last Friday, and whilst the restaurant was quiet the atmosphere was still very good, together with the service, staff and food.

Very nice meal on a Saturday night, the restaurant was busy with a nice atmosphere . A nice bread basket was provided which I believe was free, the starters were good and well presented. We went for the faggots on the basis they were home made and oh what a good choice they were amazing so annoyed I could not... More

Whilst the venue is fairly attractive (the car park is a nightmare, although outside shelter facilities for those of us who do smoke were surprisingly good), the menu was extremely limited, the quality of food (overall) very disappointing, the costs were extortionate for this type of family dining venue and the service was poor. We dined as a group of... More

We have been to the Hurdles several times as it has an excellent restaurant feel to it with good service and atmosphere. We went on a Friday evening and unlike previous visits it was relatively quiet. However our experience was good as it has been on other occasions. The beer is good 'fuggle de dum' and the food was excellent. The... More

I wanted to treat my wife and I after a long and hard week at work. Having tried my favourite local restaurants and been unsuccessful in securing a booking, I threw the net out wider via TripAdvisor and discovered this gem of a restaurant. We were eating early so the restaurant was naturally not busy and on entering understandably lacked... More

Our family decided to have our Christmas Lunch out this year (or last), so we decided on The Hurdles. Our group of 14 (8 Adults and 6 Children) loved it. The service was superb and food was excellent. I had Scallops, Beef and Cheese Board and it was delicious! The place was packed out and we're already planning to return... More

Having had a lovely Mothers' day lunch here last year following a recommendation, we decided to try sunday lunch. I ordered an orange juice and was presented with a glass of weak squash, then we had to wait 3/4 hour for our main. Yes the restaurant was fairly busy and some large groups, but we were given a half-hearted kind... More

I know most of the (Gastro) Pubs and Restaurants in this area of Hampshire. We have several excellent places. I have been to The Hurdles three times this month and it's only the 9th. One of my favourite haunts. You will not beat The Hurdles on service, comfort, their great wine list or the wide selection of dishes on their... More

On entering the restaurant the fires were roaring, music playing and a lovely atmosphere was felt. For starters my husband had the soup which was spicy sweet potato (I think!!) which of course I had to sample and it was amazing, I had the tempura prawns which normally the prawns are small but these were large and cooked to perfection,...
