Arrived to be welcomed by bar staff who told us to sit where we wanted and someone would come and take our order, while looking for a table another member of staff wanted to show us to one, we ordered drinks and looked at the menu, our food order for 2 roast dinners 1 pork and the other a platter... Popped in for a bite to eat on a Saturday afternoon, greeted by friendly staff and our dog was made more that welcome. Opened up a tab at the bar, and ordered our food, Both the starters and main courses arrived promptly and portions were very good. Really enjoyable meal, really enjoyable experience. Will definitely be visiting again...

Just had a family get together at this pub, and it was very nice. The food is lovely and the service was good, ( no going to the bar for refills, as waiter/ess service). They do a set menu of 2 courses for £11.95 or for an additional £2 you can have 3 courses. We chose this option as we... More

In previous visits, I've always had a decent meal but unfortunately things have gone downhill. The building itself is in need of a good overhaul, the thatch is in an appalling state and the windows look very tatty. I opted for the fish and chips, I'd literally just returned back from France and wanted some good English fodder. The batter... More

Nothing wrong with it but you wouldn't go out of your way to eat here, you might drop in if you were going past and were hungry. The service is a bit slow and the food is ordinary. Staff friendly enough.

Sadly this Pub appears to have deteriorated! It is a very good place for us to meet our friends as they drive from the South East & we drive from the South West! We have used this pub on many occasion but this is the first time I felt it was necessary to write a review! We were met by... More

We visited for lunch after having had a country walk. It's a lovely old pub and pleasant inside. The menu was standard Vintage Inn and the food and drinks were served promptly and well presented. The staff were friendly and efficient. It was the only place in Andover we could find offering Gourmet card discount .

We have eaten at the Poplar Farm many times over the years. The quality of the experience has varied at times but this evening the staff excelled themselves. I will assume that this is down to a competent manager and some effective staff training. On a busy Saturday evening, we were greeted and seated promptly, and the drinks order taken... More

We visited the Poplar Farm pub on Mothers Day with my step son and his family. The venue is child friendly, but not so much as to put off people who don't have kids (i.e. not full of play areas and screaming kids). We arrived an hour early for our booking, but the staff maanged to accomodate us after a... More
