Another intereseting venue to dine!

Called in for breakfast, very good and a lot better than my local Spoon! Having dined in Spoon's churches and opera halls, today we were in the old newspaper printing works - complete with Printing Press tucked away in corner!

I was staying at the Barton Stacey Travelodge and not wishing to eat in a Little Chef (who in their right minds would) I drove into Andover to seek out the local Wetherspoons and after the airless room in the Travelodge the air conditioned space of the John Russell was very welcome! I had both my evening meal and breakfast... More

The rack of Ribs was beautifully cooked and so juicy. Also the gas fire place created a lovely atmosphere.

The John Russell fox ( Weatherspoons) is everything you'd expect of a Weatherspoons , great staff great atmospher and cheap. The foods great never had a problem with it, I probably eat here at least 3 times a week, it's central ish to everything in Andover and is very hospitable, and usually doing something for charity, other than not playing... Andover was a real disappointment, empty shops everywhere and the whole town seemed 'tired'. However the John Russell Fox was quite busy. The restaurant was very untidy and tables needed clearing. We waited a very long time for our panini but when it came it was absolutely delicious.

This is probably the best run friendliest Wetherspoons I have ever been too. The food is extremely good value and cant complain for what I am paying and the staff are fantastic, always happy, friendly and I always enjoy and look forward to going back. Keep it up.

Often go there in the day, and occasional evenings. Always good value for money, and relaxing atmosphere. Service sometimes slow as few bar staff often around. But as Weatherspoons go, one of the best

There's continental style seating on the pavement outside and the doors are wide open to let in what little summer weather we've had. However the sight of teenage girls sitting outside with pints, cigarettes and babies in pushchairs, put me off from the start. At the bar there was a waiting queue, two deep, I had beer spilled over me... More
