Lovely food

The pub felt good when we arrived for a mid-week supper - not too busy and noisy, but enough people there to give it a good atmosphere. There was plenty to choose from on the menu - we were a bit boring and chose burgers, but there were a lot of tasty sounding dishes. I had a beef burger -... read more

Went for the carvery lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it. The service was excellent, the food excellent with a really good choice. Very pleasant surroundings also has rear beer garden. Good parking facilities with a good old fashioned atmosphere will certainly return

We came for a drink while out for a walk on Easter Monday. The outside area was beautiful and a real sun trap. There was a good selection of drinks and snacks.

Great service, good meat choice on the carvery, including veggie nut roast option. Accompanying veg were excellent (cauli cheese, creamed leeks as well as usual super roast spuds etc.). Good range of well kept beers Tanglefoot was great. Very good value as well. Will be making this a regular Sunday treat.

Visited this venue for the first time in many years on a recommendation and was not disappointed. Being that it was Mother's Day it was a little chaotic at the 2.00 pm sitting but it soon calmed down and the carvery was excellent. The beef was delicious and the vegetables fresh and unusual. The service was a little slow but... More

Fully booked last time I tried so we came for a Saturday Mother's day lunch with the hubbies family. We all chose the carvery which was excellent, 3 choices of meat and lovely potatoes and vegetables. The chocolate brownie was on the specials menu and was very nice, the other puds looked very good as well although the brother in... More

The pub was full throughout our lunchtime stay, during which we enjoyed their carvery of beef, turkey and pork. The beef, in particular, was excellent. The yorkshire puddings, however, were not at their best, being rather soft and rubbery. The veg was plentiful and fine, with some fantastic crispy roasties. The service was attentive, prompt and friendly, despite the general... More
