Arrived just after 6pm on a Friday (Dec 5th) as it was fully booked for Saturday lunch. This pub is one of my all time absolute and what I write here doesn't really do it justice. Tim, the owner was extremely welcoming when we arrived, joking around with the kids and engaging in conversation. The atmosphere is brilliant, staff are... More

A Satnav may not take you directly to The Yew Tree but it is worth the extra effort to locate it. This was a return visit for a group of 6 friends who had travelled from Sussex, Hampshire and Spain / Scotland for a get together in the comfortable surroundings of a cosy pub where you receive a cheery welcome... Having moved house recently it is some time since I have visited The Yew Tree. However, I went there with a friend last week and I had forgotten what a wonderful place it is. A hidden gem, amazing food, perfect service and a wonderful atmosphere. Perfect in every way.

Our first visit was about 3 months ago, our second visit about 2 weeks ago and we have made a booking to return again! The pub is friendly, warm and cosy. The food is delicious and has been on both visits. We love going to this pub, and are glad our friends suggested it. Laura who works there definitely deserves... More

We've just come back from The Yew Tree, really enjoyed the evening. The staff were great and the food was exceptional - it's great to see some different dishes on the menu. Well priced too. This is the best food in the local villages surrounding Alton.

Great food that's not the same as everywhere else. Friendly and efficient staff. Reasonably priced: 4 starters, 4 mains, 4 local beers and 4 large soft drinks - £85 ish We went on a Sunday night and it was busy and a little hard to get to the bar but not cramped once seated. Would definitely recommend.

Had dinner at this very popular hidden gem last night, we were not able to book a table in the restaurant as we didn't try to make a booking until 6pm, however, we took the chance to get a table in the bar and it paid off! The atmosphere was fantastic, just the way a country pub should be! The... More
