Lovely Pub, Fantastic Food

Very friendly, welcoming staff with a warm atmosphere. The Yew Tree has a deliciously tempting menu, the only problem is deciding what to have! The food is cooked beautifully and lives up to the expectations the menu creates. The whole experience from the bar, the service to the food is done... read more

Not that near Alton, but then again, not that near anywhere but most definitely worth the trip out. Fantastic food, the sausage and mash is the greatest comfort food ever, and the onion gravy that it comes with is simply delicious. One of my top recommends.

We came here on Mother's Day so it was packed, but everything was so efficient and the staff so attentive we could have been the only guests. We loved the food, the relaxed atmosphere and subtle decor. This owner must have a great sense of humour! (photo in the ladies: "BOO"). I had a tasty chicken thai curry and a... More

We were recommended by Barry at the Star Inn, to whom we are indebted,as we were late in booking for Mother's Day but Tim was marvellous and accommodated our family at very short notice and we were very glad about that and delighted with the Yew Tree. The menu is extensive and varied and very reasonably priced for the extremely... More

Delighted to find this little gem. Recommended by owner of The Star where we last had Sunday lunch. The Yew Tree is laid back, friendly, full of local character and delivers an excellent and original menu. Had the Cajerk chicken, my wife had the Guinea fowl and both superbly cooked. Desserts to die for. Advice. Don't be in a hurry,... More

Arrived just after 6pm on a Friday (Dec 5th) as it was fully booked for Saturday lunch. This pub is one of my all time absolute and what I write here doesn't really do it justice. Tim, the owner was extremely welcoming when we arrived, joking around with the kids and engaging in conversation. The atmosphere is brilliant, staff are... More

A Satnav may not take you directly to The Yew Tree but it is worth the extra effort to locate it. This was a return visit for a group of 6 friends who had travelled from Sussex, Hampshire and Spain / Scotland for a get together in the comfortable surroundings of a cosy pub where you receive a cheery welcome...
