Having had afternoon tea at some of the best hotels in the world I was eager to try the Lowry as it is on our doorstep and people have given me rave reviews on it. I would say that bitterly disappointed fits my feelings on this. We were staying at the hotel for business so ordered it for our room.... More

Went to this restaurant 16/07/2014 for my sons graduation, the food portions were really small and very bland, wanted to order a glass for wine with my tiny dinner but no waiting staff around, finished it by the time someone appeared, was told when I paid bill that staff had gone on a break,I don't mind paying over the odds for quality and great... My wife and I chose The Lowry Restuarant ("TLR") to host our wedding breakfast in June 2014. Within minutes of initiialy meeting TLR's manager, Mike Lee, we knew we had found our venue. Mike's enthusiasm and sense of creativity in creating a highly personal event was infectious. From helping with the design of a bespoke menu, matching wines and accommodating... More

Opera North's annual Wagner visit to the Lowry(six hours)meant a dinner interval of course. The restaurant and ancillary dining areas operated very well to serve a large number of three course meals in 75 minutes(waiter service, not buffet style)but maintained a relaxed atmosphere throughout.Starters and desserts fine but nothing too special,a Lanceshire cheese tart on crushed peas, and a 'Manchester tart'of sorts with... Pre Opera dinner, disappointment hardly covers it, i wish we hadn't bothered. Pre dinner phone call to ask for wine order, fine we know time is limited, recall number rings out, order by e-mail, no wine on table, "please go to bar and order", it arrives as we almost finished food, neither wine nor food even worth talking about. Remerdy,... More

The menu is not extensive and the portions are not huge but the quality and presentation makes the Lowry restaurant a real fine dining experience. Service is good and the restaurant is very light and has fabulous views across the quays. It never seems very busy so the ambience could be improved but this took little away from a lovely... More

My wife and I had a lovely meal at The Lowry restaurant before watching Happy Days in the theatre. Wife had excellent smoked salmon and beetroot for starter whilst I had sublime Pea soup . We both had chicken mains again excellent followed by superb deserts. We then ordered cheese and biscuits to have during the interval of the show.... More

Not our bag - reasonably well prepared food in tiny portions served cafeteria style but charging premium prices. Our interpretation of the dessert menu caused the most hilarity when 3 wafer like slivers of fruit where deemed to be "strawberries". We left £70 lighter after 3 miniscule courses and an average bottle of chardonnay left us still feeling hungry! True... More

Every time I visit Manchester, I love to come to The Lowry for dinner and a show. The food is consistently excellent, the atmosphere is welcoming and friendly and the view terrific. They know how to give you a relaxed yet timely dining experience so you have time to get to your seats if you are attending the theatre. This... More
