Excellent gardens and the castle itself is amazing although you do cannot see all the rooms. Very pricey for the Henry 8th room where Henry slept with Ann. Only stayed one night. Our room had a fabulous headboard, the most comfortable bed ever. Liked the half decanter of Sherry keeping up with the times. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate in your... More

Bought afternoon tea for my parents for Christmas and also purchased for my elderly Aunt and my Uncle who was visiting for the first time since moving to Oz over 40 years ago. Paid around £90 for all 4 of them. Admittedly my Aunt eats very little so wouldn't have had anywhere near her monies worth, however the four of... More

I can see the castle from my bedroom window but this was my first visit in 15 years. Helped by a lovely day we sat in the garden listening to the birds. A nice selection of sandwiches scones and biscuits. Too much for the 2 of us to eat. Nicely spaced out from other customer. Staff attentive but not in... More

Had an amazing Sunday lunch. Food excellent, waiting staff were attentive and friendly. After lunch we sat out in the gardens to enjoy the scenery and further drinks. We were not rushed at all. Will definitely be revisiting.

The food was fine - we had a range of dishes and they were all attractively presented, efficiently and attentively served and tasted pretty good. When we booked, they asked if... More

We ate at Thornbury Castle while staying there on a one-night break, and I can honestly say that dinner was the highlight of our stay. Food was cooked to perfection, with a couple of complimentary extra courses thrown in, and service was top-class with friendly and attentive waiters never leaving a glass empty. Venison was amazing and highly recommended. Would... More
