My sister and I went for lunch, we ordered our drinks and they took 20 minutes to come and a long time to take our order. This would have been forgivable it the place wasn't completely empty and they had 4 waiting staff. Once ordered our starters did come quickly and were fairly tasty. However we were left without drinks... More

We attended on Christmas day with a family of 8 and a small child. Worse Christmas dinner I have ever had. Most of the family ordered Scallops for starters, there was 1 small scallop swimming in oil. The main course took 45 minutes to come out, the brussel sprouts were frozen inside and the whole meal was cold. We tried... More

Went for a Sunday roast this time. Didn't disappoint. We've been been here many times and will return again and again. The food and service is always good. You will always get a good welcome, and there is a good selection from which to choose. Great venue if in Nth Bristol area and feeling peckish.

Family dinner service very slow but very pleasant, food okay but overpriced. Competition in this area is strong so an individuality is needed to hook locals. Young pleasant staff saved this from being a great disappointment.

We walked down from the place we were staying. The food they had was outstanding, memorable, and one of the best meals we have ever had. I had the Irish Rib....OMG!!!! That rib was huge and the meat was so tender and tasty. The staff were friendly and nice. We would definately go back.

Having reviewed the Ship Inn before and given a 2 out of 5 l have since visted twice again at lunchtime, on both occassions through work as l would not have gone otherwise. Both occassions were lunchtimes and l have to say l stand by my previous comments, this restaurant simply cannot cope with the number of covers it has... More

Booked here for a family christmas meal. We preordered our food from the christmas menu many of us chose 3 courses. One of us ordered the vegetarian main. The starters were luke warm - just about edible. We had to ask for butter to go on our bread. The mains - turkey xmas dinner was again luke warm, dried out... More

I have seen many reviews, and eaten here over 30 times this year. I have seen the changes the new management have brought in, and with the exception of a shortage of staff at busy times, I would not fault them. There has been a couple of small mistakes, but they have mainly been down to my rather limited dietary... More

This is one of our local inns and we frequent it often. Today we had a voucher for steak and wine for £22.00.and decided to go for lunch. The steak was excellent and cooked perfectly (not always the case at some establishments), I swapped my chips for sweet potato fries and this was no problem. the choice of wine was... More

35 minutes for our starters to arrive - no recompense offered. Coffee was cold and awful. Service offhand and disinterested. I will never return.
