A very warm welcome to the Butchers Arms. One of the oldest pubs in the Forest of Dean, we have been welcoming locals and visitors alike since 1802. Our menu combines signature 'Butchers' dishes with traditional British favourites, our modern recipes and grills are all prepared by Head Chef Matt Wheeler and his team from the freshest ingredients. Wherever possible we will endeavour to provide produce from local suppliers so you can truly have a taste of the Forest of Dean. We pride ourselves in providing good quality food, excellent service and a relaxed atmosphere. All our food is cooked fresh to order, so please allow a little time for service. We look forward to seeing you. Matt and Scott Directors

A friendly pub, excellent draught beer and super food Plenty of choice and good midweek offers from their traditional menu. We went both nights whilst staying locally Highly recommended.

Very very basic. Small but clean twin rooms with uncomfortable beds. Not knowing the area, we asked about access as my 89 yr old mother was with us and told there were only a few steps to bedrooms. in fact this was not the case so was a bit of a shock and a worry. The meal in the evening... More

As we were staying in the village we thought we would visit The Butchers Arms. What an awesome meal. Home cooked food, beautifully presented and absolutely delicious!! So delicious in fact that I was full to the brim and could not manage a pudding. I'll have to make another trip!!!The service was great. Polite and obliging staff made this a... More

We are stopping near Wollaston and needed to find somewhere nice to eat one evening. We used trip advisor to locate the Butchers Arms. We had a wonderful meal there. My wife said it was one of the best meals she has had and my steak pie was so large I couldn't contemplate a pudding afterwards. Highly recommended by us... More

We've been to The Butcher;s Arms on several occasions in the past and despite fabuous potential (i.e. it's a great building) it's always failed to live up to expectations. However, with new owners, a new menu and now open all day (good news indeed), we thought we'd give it another try but we were hugely disappointed. Being met with an... More

From a food point of view great value and good homemade and cooked meals. Massive fish pie & veg and large chicken & chips. Huge cheesecake and a very substantial cheese board all reasonably priced. Service, probably passed relaxed - maybe short staffed the night we were there, but slow. I wasn't alone in going to the bar to get... More

Lovely friendly people and a good menu which included all the pub classics and a good childrens menu. We went back a second time on a busy Friday night and the service wasn't quite so good but there's still a lovely atmosphere and I would recommend it.

Nice food, although a little over priced for the amount you get on your plate, could of been cleaner though. Will not be going back.
