Proper pub food and good Ales served by very friendly staff. Good wine list as well. New owner since beginning of October and they have created a very warm Atmosphere. Couldn't do enough to cater for our twin grandchildren aged 3 1/2. Even the dogs were looked after with treats at the end of the meal specially delivered by the... More

Having been a regular at the western over the years & seen a number of new owners come and go, David isbquite simply the worst yet, I'm unable to comment on Freya, not a patch on the previous landlady Gail. The staff that have been there previously were lovely as usual but unfortunately did not make up for the pompus... More

Whilst with 3 friends on a walking holiday in the Cotswolds, we stopped at the Great Western Arms for lunch. We were greeted by a very friendly and helpful waitress who served us rich tasty home made Stilton and broccoli soup with masses of warm crusty bread. We did not order drinks so she asked us if we would like... More

We had dinner here last week. No wine list. Warm bottle of white wine served. Food took a long time to come and the fish and chips were inedible. I hope they sort it out because the pub has real potential

The pub has just been taken over and Sunday lunch was a complete shambles. The limited menu (and pricing) is completely different to that advertised online on their website. A one course meal took almost 3 hours and there were long waits between different meals coming out - some meals came out so late that others at our table had... More

We had Sunday lunch in the Great Western Arms 3 adults 3 children Sadly we had to wait over an hour for our food The food that arrived looked and tasted as it was the dregs found at the back of the kitchen Potatoes not cooked, veg cold and Meat covered in thick sludgy gravy Explanation for delay was that... We read the reviews on this pub and decided to go. Unfortunately we went only a few days after it had been taken over by new management so there was a limited menu. It is therefore difficult to give 5 stars as this was not a good start. Also I don't eat red meat so was very very limited in... More

We walked up the road to the pub after travelling all day. The food was good, with a decent choice, and the staff were very pleasant.

We were staying in Blockley and went down to the Great Western Arms for dinner. We were with some friends and had our infant son asleep in the pram, and our Border Terrier dog. The Publican/Chef was fantastically helpful and very accommodating. The pub had a warmth and genuine quality to it, and was filled with locals having a Saturday... More
