What a quaint little place, lovely relaxed atmosphere. We didn't dine but the menu looked impressive. Will definitely return for food and more of the same. A gem for southend

We discovered this little gem while walking around the back streets of Southend. As my partner is Gluten free the staff were happy to oblige and advised on a great starter and ensured the Sunday roast ticked all the boxes. I'll highly recommend the beef and what a plateful you get. If in the area again we'll be returning.

We arrived around 8.45 and there were only two couples still dining but they still seated us. We ordered the Rosé pinot grigio, Jerk Chicken and Slow cooked lamb. Both were cooked perfectly. As the chicken was made to order, we had to wait, so were offered a complimentary bread and pâté board. Much appreciated! Brilliant waiting on the table,... More

First visit although this restaurant came highly recommended. Had Sunday roast, I had the pork, my wife the beef. Ample side dishes of vegetables, cauliflower cheese & roast potatoes all of which were wonderful. We will be back.

Absolutely excellent food - we were all unanimous with our different choices. Good wine. Best to choose beer/ales downstairs at the bar before going up to the restaurant. Nice atmosphere. We have eaten here now on several occasions over the past 5 years and this is definitely one of the best restaurants in the area.

An intimate and relaxed bar, with friendly and knowledgeable staff and a great range of drinks. Mark delivered the most sophisticated Long Island Iced Tea I have ever had, accompanied by tales of the origin of some of the cocktails on the menu. He really knows his stuff!

We visited The Mews last night, and have to say it was fantastic. The scallops were some of the best I've ever tasted and all the meals around the table were thoroughly enjoyed! Well worth a visit.

Lovely location close to the town centre, but within the conservation area. The bar downstairs has limited seating which can be an issue. The bar itself has a great selection from cocktails to real ales. Staff are friendly and considerate. Food was excellent although the menu selection can be limited for some. Must book as very popular - which says... More
