I have been a quest at two functions at this hotel and was impressed at the location and service. I took my family to the Roslin for lunch on Monday 25th August and cannot fault the food, service and price for such a great time. I would hearty recommend this hotel- it is a jewel in the Southend crown. Visit... More

My friends and I have just had sunday lunch in the Roslin beach hotel, thorpe Bay. All the staff are just great, very attentive and polite, nothing is too much trouble. We had the prawn cocktail starters and the mediteranean vegatable salads. One of us had the roast pork for lunch and the rest of us went for the roast... More

Stop over for cousins' wedding. A nice clean hotel. Expensive for what is is, a little cramped/claustrophobic, but comfortable. No decent view from our room. Breakfast was very good. Staff attentive. A bit expensive for what it is.

My family and I had a table booked for my sisters birthday. We all ordered different things, but the worst of all was the Caesar salad. It was limp and lifeless, it had clearly been sitting there for a good half hour before anyone else's food was ready, as it had absorbed all the dressing before it reached the table.... More

We booked a meal for 16 of us for a Friday night to celebrate a special birthday for mum. We were asked to make our meal selections a week ahead of our booking date so that the food could be ordered. They sent the menu through to us and told us that of the 9 starters, 12 main courses and... More

Dined here on a Sunday afternoon for a birthday celebration. Very pleasant ambiance and attentive staff. Good menu selection. Had to wait a while between starter and main course but this is forgiven when everything is cooked fresh. Had a lovely piece of skate and the most amazing lemon brûlée. Would definitely return again for another occasion.

What a lovely experience having afternoon tea was here. The staff were very welcoming and brought pots of tea straight away. We then were given a mini quiche to start which was very tasty. The tea its self consists of sandwiches, very fresh, scones, jam and cream and a lovely refreshing champagne jelly/trifle. also a lovely selection of little cakes. When the sandwiches... More

We visited The Roslin for an afternoon tea with family and were not disappointed . The surroundings are pleasant with a lovely view of the sea , the service is courteous and efficient and the price of a tea is reasonable at £15.95 per head. Food quality is very good although we would have preferred a wider selection of sandwich... More

Had lunch yesterday on the terrace overlooking the sea. Lovely choice of food, full menu or lighter meals. Had a warm chicken wrap with fries and some salad, beautiful. Staff very friendly and helpful. Will definitely return.
