I took my mum for lunch for a special occasion which I had told the restaurant when booking . It was a hot day but as this is a restaurant on the seafront, one would expect it to be able to provide a pleasant temperature for the dining experience; unfortunately not. Our table got the benefit of the sun but,... More

Just enjoyed a wonderful Afternoon Tea (with champagne), courtesy of daughter and family. I know I had a bad experience with an evening meal with friends recently but we really could not fault our Afternoon Tea experience. The surroundings were pretty, the crockery pretty, the food pretty and the service was good. A really lovely touch was the 'dessert' which... More

Really nice outside terrace, comfy seats and tables, good menus, good service. Some might think the prices are a bit steep but I think it depends on what you have and your own expectations. Fish and chips was £13.95 but was a very large portion. Drinks are average prices.

Sat outside on the terrace with lovely sea views. Waitress polite but very busy meeting all requests. Drinks came up promptly and food too. We both ordered the fish and chips. It was so big I'm glad I didn'tt have a starter. I couldn't finish it all. I didn't have a dessert as I was full but those I saw... More

We stopped going to the restaurant because of poor service and not particularly good food. However we had been told that service and food had improved thus we went again....................The first course took an hour to arrive and we had to remind staff for our drinks. We had friends with us who had to catch a flight and the service... More

No dislikes at all except that parking is a bit tight. Food at hotel is brilliant - service is efficient and the staff are all really friendly. Atmosphere is relaxed but buzzes with everyone eating there. Have not stayed at the hotel yet but that's the next thing for us to do - am going there to celebrate my 60th... More

I'm not sure why it appears so low on the ratings in Southend, this is one, if not the best. I had fresh shrimp cocktail to start, fillet steak with homemade sauce and English cheese to follow. It was all very good. The steak was a very good quality and you can tell they have their own farm and butcher.... More
