Food and service was not bad but everything was over priced. We paid £5.50 for a small bowl of fresh strawberries! Be careful the extras here will cost you!

I have been going to Umberto's since when it was in Ilford and run by the current owners parents, wonderful food in very pleasant intimate surroundings . We were celebrating our wedding anniversary with friends, I had Palma ham to start followed by seafood linguini spiced up a bit to my likening it did not disappoint. A bottle of the... More

Came with parents for a nice dinner. Dinner was very nice. Recommend the Dover Sole even though it is slightly pricey at £24.50 it was very much worth it. Overall 7/10.

I are here on Friday night as a party of five and we had a lovely evening. We didn't intend to have starters, but once the Manager/Owner (?) had gone through the specials with great passion, it was obvious that the meal was going to be something special. I had the baked mushrooms, but I have to say, I was... More

Situated towards the very east end of Hornchurch between two other eating establishments, Umberto's is easy to miss. My strong recommendation is that you make the effort to seek it out. The restaurant is accessed from the front during the summer but from the rear (via a short alleyway) in the winter - don't be put off. We ate there... More

Been 3 times with 3 friends, food is excellent and you're not rushed. My friend says it was the est minestrone she had ever had (and she has had a lot!)

Have just got home after a superb meal. Main menu slightly limited but specials board more than made up for it. Started with garlic king prawns and grilled sardines followed by fillet steak. The starters were both very good and the steak was cooked rare to perfection. For me though and as strange as it may seem the vegetable accompaniments... More

Went to this restaurant for my parents 60th wedding anniversary. Staff were excellent and very attentive. Food was great, we all ate from the specials board as the main menu was rather limited.
