Never disappoints!

We have been eating here a couple of times a month and have never been disappointed. Sunday roasts and main menu dishes are excellent and very good value. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Always a good experience.

I have visited this pub/restaurant quite a number of times over the last year usually on a Sunday. It has a non-threatening atmosphere and the staff are friendly and professional in their duties. It is the type of pub where you sit at a table, note your table number and order at the bar, it's always been easy and I've... More

Visited this pub after a long walk and found it to be a delightful experience. STAFF Very nice pub with friendly staff. Atmosphere is relaxed and family friendly. A warm welcome greeted our group as we entered FOOD The chef is a master in his craft. The dishes are presented on the plate in what can only be described as... More

Having arrived at the The Lion to find it was the Christmas party meant an impromptu alternative. The recommended Six Bells was closed, as was the William B and hence our arrival here. It deserves a better ranking, as we were greeted by a friendly bar man who we found out was also maitre'd and chef for the night. And... More

Practical, pleasant, good-value and easy place to eat. The staff are funny, welcoming and friendly. They regularly ask if you are enjoying yourself or if everything is fine, to the point where they sometimes make a joke of it! The food is very decent and the value is great. They do one day a week especially for seniors and that... More

Went for breakfast with Santa at 9am on 20/12/2014. We were a group of 6 adults and 2 children and 2 babies. We were placed on a table in the corner which the table was way to small for such a large group, no cutlery set out. Still at 11am and our order which was taken numerous times had not... More

Breakfast with Father Christmas was a total joke, although not a funny one. Our drinks came in drubs and drabs, the kids juices taking 45 minutes! An hour and 10 minutes after we ordered we finally got our breakfast, which was cold,we then waited a further 20 minutes for for our order which was not only cold again but wrong.... More

Went with family (four of us). Lovely atmosphere. Waited a while for starters and had to ask where it was but then it was fine. Food really tasty, proper pub food. Waiting staff very attentive and friendly. Recommend the salted caramel and chocolate torte! The meal was very reasonably priced.
