I visited this pub today with my friend for a catch up and a meal. We arrived and found a table next to a couple. We purchased a drink and sat down to look at menus and have a chat. We hadn't been sitting down for long when the man told us to be quiet cos he was conducting an... More

We have been eating here a couple of times a month and have never been disappointed. Sunday roasts and main menu dishes are excellent and very good value. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Always a good experience.

I have visited this pub/restaurant quite a number of times over the last year usually on a Sunday. It has a non-threatening atmosphere and the staff are friendly and professional in their duties. It is the type of pub where you sit at a table, note your table number and order at the bar, it's always been easy and I've... More

Having arrived at the The Lion to find it was the Christmas party meant an impromptu alternative. The recommended Six Bells was closed, as was the William B and hence our arrival here. It deserves a better ranking, as we were greeted by a friendly bar man who we found out was also maitre'd and chef for the night. And... More

Practical, pleasant, good-value and easy place to eat. The staff are funny, welcoming and friendly. They regularly ask if you are enjoying yourself or if everything is fine, to the point where they sometimes make a joke of it! The food is very decent and the value is great. They do one day a week especially for seniors and that... More
