Good Food and Good Service

We visited the Duke of Wellington on Saturday the 23/01/16. When we booked we were warned that there was a fund raising event being held for Macmillan and that service may be a little delayed. We took the chance and so very glad that we did. Our food was excellent and piping hot and the service was... read more

Food is obviously not cooked with fresh ingredients on site. Microwaved and from a bag so not ideal. It's a real shame as it's okay inside and could be a homely pub. Most of the staff are quite friendly.

We had never been here before but live fairly close by so thought we'd give it a go. I took my elderly dad as he has just spent three weeks in hospital so I thought he needed to get out. He chose the steak and ale pie. It came with mash or chips and four different vegetables which were lovely... More

Poor food, poor service. Not good value for money. Actually altered my list to cover up an error and charged for the privilege! Everything seemed to be too much trouble. A really bad experience and not one that we will repeat.ee

Our family group of ten had an excellent Christmas day at The Duke of Wellington. I never normally write reviews but the whole experience from start to finish was a real treat. To start with, the value compared to most other restaurants in the area was very competitive, five courses for under £55. I had comments from every one on... More

We visited with a wide age range of people from 80 to 5 and found the food to be delicious! After eating out several times over the last week we all said it was the best meal by far! I had the award winning beetroot and aubergine curry which was amazing! Would definitely recommend it.

Visited the Duke of Wellington in a group of three for a pre-booked festive meal. On arrival we found our table laid out nicely with a table cloth and wine glasses prepared. Our starters arrived after a very short wait and after staff checked we were ready; prawn cocktail was especially good. The main meals were also high quality, particularly... More
