The perfect place to unwind with a glass of something chilled and enjoy delicious, freshly cooked food with family and friends. Our food is cooked entirely from scratch using fresh, seasonal produce. Lovely Sunday lunch, good ambience

Booked in advance and advised them we would have a 4 week old baby with us. This helped them to ensure our table had room for pram. Table on lower floor provided room for all. Staff welcoming and efficient. The place is lovely, set in Essex countryside; have been here once before as a couple and... read more

we spent a very pleasant afternoon here for a private function on a sunny Saturday afternoon. From the moment you pull into the ample car park you can see the quality of finish and attention to detail of this very modern light establishment. With a lovely open terrace,, garden with play centre for children to the very modern interior this... More

A really good selection of modern twists. Enjoyed a number of visits but struggle to match the cost with the experience. Somewhat over priced but superb quality. Nearby Square & Compasses gets a betted balance of cost and quality I think. But. You can't ignore the quality of the meal and the quirky presentation style. Dress to impress a new... More

Friends took us out to an evening meal here. The restaurant is on a small back road between Great Leighs and Boreham in Essex, but it deserves a place in an elegant high street. The menu was amazing - home made pork scratchings on the appetizer menu, two tempting vegetarian options and a range of good meat options. The customer... More

Went here on Sunday afternoon for a friends birthday. There is a nice outside terrace and it is family friendly. The staff were friendly and efficient and the food was very good. Good selection on all courses. The dog and gun salad was delicious for starters and can recommend the Eton Mess. Everyone enjoyed their food. Other reviews talk about... More

Visited here one spring evening to meet friends. Lovely atmosphere as soon as you walk in. For me the atmosphere of a place is nearly as important as how the food tastes! But this was great, large glass windows give it an open & modern feel. Great service too and food menu is exciting & tasty. Would go back without... More

Had a family meal here for a birthday on Saturday. My wife and I arrived half an hour early due to having a new born baby which makes a meal out an exercise in logistics and we didn't realise the venue doesn't open until 6.00 in the evening. Thankfully staff were about and were happy for us to sit outside... More

First time here having never heard of this place before... and I was really impressed. Quaint countryside setting but with loads of parking. The restaurant was clean and tidy, well decorated with an old world charm. The young waiting staff were smart and polite with an appropriate level of attentiveness, but still a good gap between courses which allowed us... More

Not a pub at all, this is a fully fledged restaurant which has had an excellent renovation including tables outside and has a menu with a good range of food. I thought the food presentation was very good and the best starters we had were the scallops and spicy fish chowder-plenty of fish with a coconut flavour in the chowder.... More
