I have visited this restaurant a number of times with my 92 year old mother. The service & quality of food is always exceptional. The staff are always very helpful especially' Will' who normally serves us. I would always recommend the restaurant to friends

As someone once said "what's not to like?" The Hare ticks all the boxes for a place to go when you want to eat well and enjoy the surroundings - with good service. Not too noisy nor too quiet. Not too busy nor too empty. In fact just right for a very pleasant lunch or dinner with friends or family

Having now eaten here probably 7 or 8 times I feel confident in recommending it as it has always been good. The staff are friendly and helpful, the service is excellent and we have managed to get a table without booking. The surroundings / décor tasteful and relaxing and the food is good value and plenty of it.

On a recent visit we were most impressed by the choice of beer - Timothy Taylor's "landlord", the quality of the food and the friendliness and efficiency of the service. Obviously care had been taken in the selection and cooking of good quality ingredients. And the bread was perfect! Eating in the "back" lounge on a sunny lunchtime with views... More

This is a great destination gastropub. Very cosy feel, while retaining a lively atmosphere. I chose from the Chef's Specials for my main & dessert courses and I have to say the slow-cooked shoulder of lamb was one of the tastiest meals for a long time; the chocolate delice was, well, delicious. This chef has a great future - I... More

Friendly helpful staff. A varied selection on the menu, including the lighter options of the main meals. Food was delivered promptly and really tasty. The meat was very tender and the deserts tasty! Wheelchair friendly. Enjoyed the open fire. Would definitely recommend to a friend = 10/10

We often go to The Hare for a meal, the food is always excellent as is the service. Last week we had our Christmas Day lunch there and despite the restaurant being full we still experienced the usual superb food and friendly service.
