The pub is a little tired and dark but I see big things for this place very much undiscovered . Will certainly be going back chiefs are first class just needs... More

Took a party of 13 here mid week only to be greeted with hardly any staff. Our reservation was set out but whoever set the dining table up did not think how 13 people were going to sit, so 4 of out party had to sit at another table. When food came some of us had over cooked fish and... More

On Sunday 27 July, in the late afternoon, my wife and I arranged to meet five other members of our family from North Essex at The Duck Inn, Newney Green, to celebrate my wife's Birthday. The table service and food were excellent with a good choice of quality wines and beers from the bar. We all chose the roast dinner... More

Came here for a family drink and had a nice time but some TLC is needed in the garden. There is a pond that could be beautiful and lovely nature reserve that is left to rot. Play area equipment that really does need a clean. I had to clear the table before we sat in the shade as there were... More

Both mine and my wife's dinner arrived cold, this was returned and replaced, we waited 15mins for two coffees which both arrived cold, the waitress explained the machine was then faulty. They purport to be be a "great" restaurant on the local radio, nothing more than overpriced pub grub that arrives cold......we would not return

My friend and I are dinner at this quaint pub. My friend has a severe allergy to onions and specifically asked if the risotto had onions in the sauce. The waitress said no. Within 15 minutes of eating the risotto, my friend starting feeling ill, and then found tiny bits of onion in the sauce. When she told the waitress,... More

I am surprised at the comments about poor service, as my husband and I had excellent service and the food was really delicious. Will definitely go again. Needs more signposts how to find though, sat nav did not take us all the way there. Found by accident in the end!!

First could not find it postcode and technology did not work this time, plus we went to it the back way! I think if there was a speeding car coming down the country lane we would not be here! When we did arrive due to the rain (mother nature) there were big open holes with water seating there, but got... More

We visited The Duck Inn for the first time in years after hearing a local radio add about the new summer menu. The Duck was as lovely looking as I had remembered. My wife had never been there before. The service was excellent very friendly and professional. I had the Fish skewers, my wife had a rib eye steak and... More
