Birthday meal

slightly disappointed with The Duck. Service okay. Very basic menu. Burgers, steak, fish and chips. There were specials of the day, but mussels and chips don't really do it. Wouldn't go back.

This is a lovely country pub, well worth the drive down the narrow country lane. The portions are generous. We had the roast which came with Yorkshire pudding and 5 fresh vegetables. The lemon tart and red berry compote was fabulous and all home made. The staff were helpful and friendly. We will be back.....

28 Feb Saturday night out, pre booked via phone as was not sure if the place was very big. Cold rainy night. Very cold inside restaurant no open fire just a heater one side of it which only warmed a few table right by it. Moved once as table for two cramped against a beam. Then the further into a... More

We visited the duck last Sunday for lunch and were warmly welcomed by our waiter Derek who looked after us charmingly throughout. The starters came out swiftly and were polished off just as quickly! We all had roast dinners and felt they were the best we'd had in a long time. Sadly we had no room for dessert, the portion... More

Went Here today with my family and service took forever. Kids portions were small for the price. Staff are fine but no urgency or coordination with the service. They understood kids food was more urgent but adults ended up eating seperatley from kids due to time lag. Food was nothing special.

We went to the Duck Inn on a Friday evening with another couple. The pub was not full but there was a lovely fire and the waitress made us very welcome. There were a few people eating in the restaurant but it was not full. They do a special offer of buy one get one free on a selected menu... More

Last Sunday we were with a big group of people at the Duck Inn and were really looking forward to a nice meal. Unfortunately the day did not turn out that well. On arrival we went into a really cold Pub. The whole time I was there I did not take my coat off. They only had one real ale... More

From the start we knew it wasn't going to be good when we were handed stained menus. Long wait for drinks .. had to remind that one of our party had ordered a soft drink. The food was very mediocre and although I rang in advance to advise that two of us were gluten free and they remembered that we... More

Sadly after today's lunch we won't be coming back. This used to be our favourite place for a Sunday lunch but after today I wouldn't come back nor would I recommend which is such a shame. We waited 45 minutes for our food and then when we chased it up we received no apology, we were just told it was... More

We visited this pub on Saturday with our daughter and her family, of two small children. On arrival we were warmly welcomed and shown to our table, the waitress was very friendly and made an effort to talk to the children and really engaged with them, we ordered our meal and again she involved the children fully with choosing their...
