Menus, serviettes and crevette could have been cleaner. Food okay but uninspired and could have been hotter. Service fine.

A group of us had Sunday lunch here today. Service behind the bar at first was a little unfriendly, but the waitresses were good, if a little slow. Thirty hungry ladies out for their Christmas meal did not faze the chef or the staff at this gorgeous old country pub. The real candles and Christmas decorations added a lovely seasonal touch to the already beautiful interior, with its ancient oak beams. The food was hot, tasty and served to us all in a very short time, which was... More

We visited the duck Inn Sunday evening and to be honest it was because we thought it was a good central meeting place and because our first two choices dont serve food sunday night. Still I had heard that this was a nice place to eat so thought , give it a try. Well it was very disappointing. It was... More

I went there for a wee romantic dinner with my girlfriend, it was relatively quiet for a Saturday I felt but that did not reflect in the quality of the meal. We sat in a lovely little nook in the restaurant, the dividing beams throughout the restaurant and bar area is very cosy. The ales on offer were nothing to... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our Saturday lunch at The Duck. Good beer, open fire & tasty food. Bar staff couldn't have been more helpful.

Luke warm soup with a slice of cheap brown bread £6.25! Reheated stale pie greasy chips cheap peas £12.95! Small bowl of cold Veg crumble with cold pots £12.95 Bottle of indiferent Rioca £24.50 Candles for heating due to blocked chimney. Staff who appeared not to care if we stayed or went. Probably worst value for money in Essex.

Visited this country pub on a Friday night, quite difficult to find but easy when you know where your going! Food abit pricey but for what you're getting slightly makes paying the difference! Tasty soup ( a special) with real crusty bread! Lovely handmade burger and the finale being a wonderful white choc cheesecake! Staff always happy to help and... More
