Enjoyable But a Few Niggles

I had high hopes for this celebratory meal given the previous reviews and The Cuckoo's reputation. We booked for 6.30 on 22nd July and were the second table to arrive. I was seated with insufficient space because the chair from one of the first customers to arrive - a table for 2 - was right... read more

I had high expectations of this place, as it had been recommended and had good reviews, but I was a little disappointed. It was nice, and cooked well, but nothing more. The restaurant is cramped and menu limited. But it tasted good and service was fine.

So glad I was finally able to try this place - it had been on my list of places to visit for a while, but they get booked up very quickly so I recommend booking early! We had a lovely meal, I couldn't fault it all, every one of the three courses was lovely! The staff were extremely friendly and... More

We tried to book just a few hours before we wanted to eat but the lady said they were full but would ring us back if she could find room as there were only two of us. True to her word she rang back and had found us a table as we were prepared to eat early. What a find.... More

Great little restaurant in the middle of nowhere - great setting. Staff friendly and welcoming. Food fantastic, we had three courses all delicious, well cooked and well presented. Wish they were open on Sundays I imagine their roast would be lovely. No hesitation in recommending this place, booking advised.

We went here in April, it was full so I would advise booking. The staff were very friendly, there were no high chairs but I keep a fold up one in the car so it wasn't a problem. The clientele were mainly over 50, not that this matters. The home made bread was very nice but very salty (so much... More

I booked this restaurant as a birthday meal with friends at the start of May. What could I say? The food was fabulous, I rarely eat steak but pushed the boat out with the fillet steak from the specials list which was beautifully cooked to perfection. The dessert of chocolate brownie was sublime, had I been at home would probably... More
