Had a last minute booking for a birthday lunch for my husband. Had read lots of reviews and the experience lived up to it. There was a great choice on the menu for such a small place and I could have selected many of the dishes which is unusual for me. We decided against a starter as we were unsure... More

Tried this place for the first time this week and was surprised at how packed it was and the food was excellent. The service was great considering how busy it was, having said that it is only a small Restaurant/pub.Off the beaten track but well worth a visit if you can get booked. The cooks certainly know what they are doing and... Visited here midweek evening! After trying a few times before but always leaving it too late and them being booked already (they must be doing something right) the menu was very imaginative and clearly all cooked fresh! Such a variety of dishes! The service was flawless from start to finish and the treats with the coffee were such a lovely... More

Last night we went to the Cuckoo. The food was excellent - I ate delicious turbot. my fellow diners ate the beef and the lamb and they too were delighted. Service prompt and cheerful. We thought it might be hard to find but it is only just off the A414.it was full even though it was a midweek evening so... More

My friends introduced me to their latest find in culinary delights, The Cuckoo. The food was indeed a delight, freshly cooked, seasonal and local produce, together with lots of choice. It was lunch time and the restaurant was full (booking is a must). Another 'delight' was their "Ladies Lunch" menu which gives even more choice. Well done Cuckoo. I will... More

We were lucky enough to be treated to a meal at this restaurant recently. The first thing you notice on approaching from the drive is how lovely the building looks from the outside, modestly decorated with a little bunting in the outside seating area. The welcome was warm and inviting. It was almost like being inside someones home, really nice.... More

Very quaint place , good food , served by people with personality . My wife wasn't over impressed , but this was probably just a poor choice of courses on her part . We will visit again and get it right ! I recommend the rack of lamb/mini hot pot and the syrup pudding .

We came across this restaurant purely by chance. It is a very charming, quaint place with a lovely decor. The food is amazing. It is a pricier than other restaurants in the area but lovely if you are going out for a special treat.

I have visited this restaurant twice, the first time was this Summer 2014 and we had lunch on a Saturday, the service and attention to detail in the restaurant was excellent and booking in advance is highly recommended, the only reason I have rated this restaurant as very good instead of excellent is that on this first occasion I had... Was taken here today for my birthday lunch by a friend. I have often heard of this restaurants reputation but never got around to visiting. After today I can confirm the reputation is richly deserved. Excellent food, very wide choice and possible the most delicious desert I have ever eaten. To cap it off very reasonably priced for such quality... More
