First visit to The Cuckoo and very impressed. Staff efficient and friendly. Basket of fresh bread to start. Extensive menu but chose from the daily special menu. The four of us had starters and all remarked on the generous serving but also wondered how we would eat our main meals to follow! Unfortunately, we were all too full for desserts.... More

The Cuckoo is definitely off the beaten track but well worth seeking out. For a small restaurant it provides a detailed and interesting menu with the option on many items to have the dishes as a starter or main course. I had the courgette and feta fritters followed by salmon fishcakes and could only look longingly at the brown sugar... More

This restaurant is simply superb, the owners are as cuckoo as the name but it adds to the charm, it's started off edgy even a bit rude but you soon realise it is extremely dry wit, we had a wonderful night with friends and couldn't wait to go back we have been here several times since and always a winner!

My food was absolutely wonderful and it is not often that I can say that. There were six of us and everyone of us cleared our plates which were of ample portions. I had a... More

Been with friends for lunch a few days ago,, Very nice from the outside. .Very cosy and family feeling inside, ,Had "The Girls Menu"..I choose the "Seafood pancake " which I really loved! !Delicious sauce! Then for dessert "Chocolate cheesecake " ..I liked it, but it was a bit to set for my taste, the brandysnap was too dry and hard... More

This was our 4th visit of the year, so every 3 months we have something to look forward to, having tried the rest, we come back to the best. My favorite is the Duck Conflt (its so popular its never been off the menu) while my wife had the huge Fillet Steak. To finish an extra bonus, Licorice Ice cream... More

The best meal I have had in a long while. The service was excellent as was the food, especially the roast potatoes!! From the moment we arrived at the restaurant until the time we left, all of our party were well looked after and nothing was too much trouble. I did not hear a single negative comment from our party... More
