Overpriced, Noisy and Terrible Service

Visited the 'new' ACanteen with my 2 daughter and 2 year old granddaughter for the first time yesterday. We were warmly welcomed and seated straight away but then things started to go downhill. Visited the 'new' ACanteen with my 2 daughter and 2 year old granddaughter for the first time yesterday. We were warmly welcomed and seated straight away but then things started to go downhill. Can I start by saying we have always loved Acanteen having had many a lovely Sunday morning breakfast in their old premises. Like others, therefore, we were looking forward to visiting their new premises, especially as trying to get a lunchtime seat at their previous site had often been impossible. Well they have certainly gone for broke with a massive increase... More

As a regular visitor to the original A Canteen I was utterly disappointed with the new expanded version. The quality of the food was shocking, we had to wait 25 mins for a table after being told it would be a 10 min wait at the bar (we had our one year old son with us who was by that... More

My husband and I went on Saturday night for a treat as my parents were babysitting. We were really impressed with the new restaurant and loved the atmosphere. It felt very 'London' and speaking as someone who lived in London for 8 years and really misses it, it was nice to be home! I had a lamb burger, which was... More

After enjoying many trips to the 'old' acanteen, I have been left disappointed and slightly embarrassed on their behalf. It seems they've lost what they used to do so well. The menu isn't available throughout, where you sit limiting your a selection, cakes were almost frozen and drinks too far too long.

After eating in the old restaurant countless times, I feel bad writing such a poor review, but so much has changed. We arrived around 9:30 and was offered a table straight away, but after that our experience went downhill fast. Nobody came to take our order so after 15 minutes of waiting we asked a passing waitress if she could... More

Acanteen has previously been a firm favourite. Unfortunately it is no longer the same. Gutted. It's changed from the unique and quirky coffee shop to a fine dining restaurant. Their original concept has totally changed. We booked a table for 8 and straight away our drinks were hit and miss and had to be chased up. We asked numerous times... More

Son had pancakes I had full breakfast and it was great lovely food, chocolate milkshake was the 2nd best my son... More

We were excited to go and try out the new, bigger Acanteen for a nice brunch. Having heard of it's popularity and the pre-warning of perhaps a twenty minute wait for a table we were expecting to not be seated instantly. The first issue we had was that we were told we were not able to pre-book for a group... More

I was a regular at the old acanteen, often going in for late breakfasts at the weekend, so was sad when I found out it was moving and changing. I went in there last Saturday for the first time though to check out the new look, and I was thoroughly impressed when I walked through the door! It reminded me... More
