Value Seafood Lunch

Delicious seafood lunch. Started with Moules Mariniere, generous portion for a starter and all in perfect condition. None of the anaemic-looking specimens that sometimes appear nowadays. Delicious sauce, bread to help mop it up, spoon to make sure and finger bowl to clean up with. Main course... read more

Not quite a pub vibe...definitely more of a restaurant now. Very good menu and well presented food. White chocolate brownie was a great hit on our table.

Visited for lunch holiday weekend. The menu was pretty much the same as my last visit about a year ago, not the largest menu, but they have obviously got it fine honed and all 3 of us were not very happy with the food. It was not full to capacity, just a nice ambience. The 2 waiting staff seemed to... More

Visited the Plough at Mountnessing with a group of friends for dinner. Nice modern decor, clean and welcoming. Found the menu varied but limited choice so I would suggest to perhaps check online first to ensure there is something for your taste. Portion sizes ample. Waitress polite. A little wait to be served and again for food to arrive, perhaps... More

We are getting work done on our house at the moment which has left us without a kitchen. For two Sundays over the last month - including Easter Sunday we have had a very good experience at the Plough and I would recommend it. The staff are excellent and good with children (we have three age 9 and below) made... More

Decided to visit after reading good reviews on Trip Advisor, and it did not disappoint. Lovely food, nicely presented and good value. Great friendly service and a good atmosphere. Only one little complaint that the main course came out to quickly after the starters. But would definite like to go back.

It was our first visit to this restaurant after having been recommended to visit by friends. The décor is smart and contemporary with a lovely round table for 6 which included a bay window seat. The staff were attentive and pleasant but not pushy or overbearing. The food was delicious with us each having a good selection of starters main... More

As the title says... Been visiting for a while now as best restaurant in Brentwood in my view. Went along before 5pm to get the cheaper menu as good value for money. Starters (prawns/calamari) great, mains (fish & chips/scampi) excellent. Beer and wine equally as good. Kids meals fantastic. Great restaurant with great ambience, staff and surroundings. My one gripe... More
