Outstanding Service

We celebrated my husband's 60th birthday with family and friends on a busy Sat at this lovely restaurant. Our waitress, Rebecca, was outstanding, nothing was too much trouble and she made sure everyone was well looked after throughout the evening. Not the sort of place to go if you want to eat out on a warm summer's evening. Place needs to open some windows or getting some air conditioning installed. Service wasn't much better either.

Our waitress, Rebecca, was outstanding, nothing was too much trouble and she made sure everyone was well looked after throughout the evening. We even came home with a souvenir birthday menu, laminated, with birthday wishes on the back - a charming and... More

Four of us had Sunday lunch here yesterday. As we walked in we were overwhelmed by the smell of garlic. We all like garlic but the strong smell was most off putting. We ordered four roast dinners and it seemed that there was garlic emanating from everything on the plate. The roast potatoes seemed worse. It must have been in... More

Delicious seafood lunch. Started with Moules Mariniere, generous portion for a starter and all in perfect condition. None of the anaemic-looking specimens that sometimes appear nowadays. Delicious sauce, bread to help mop it up, spoon to make sure and finger bowl to clean up with. Main course of prawn and calamari linguini could have been a little more generous, given... More

Not quite a pub vibe...definitely more of a restaurant now. Very good menu and well presented food. White chocolate brownie was a great hit on our table.

Visited for lunch holiday weekend. The menu was pretty much the same as my last visit about a year ago, not the largest menu, but they have obviously got it fine honed and all 3 of us were not very happy with the food. It was not full to capacity, just a nice ambience. The 2 waiting staff seemed to... More

Visited the Plough at Mountnessing with a group of friends for dinner. Nice modern decor, clean and welcoming. Found the menu varied but limited choice so I would suggest to perhaps check online first to ensure there is something for your taste. Portion sizes ample. Waitress polite. A little wait to be served and again for food to arrive, perhaps... More

We are getting work done on our house at the moment which has left us without a kitchen. For two Sundays over the last month - including Easter Sunday we have had a very good experience at the Plough and I would recommend it. The staff are excellent and good with children (we have three age 9 and below) made... More

Decided to visit after reading good reviews on Trip Advisor, and it did not disappoint. Lovely food, nicely presented and good value. Great friendly service and a good atmosphere. Only one little complaint that the main course came out to quickly after the starters. But would definite like to go back.
