I often meet friends after work for drinks and something to eat. We enjoy the choice of meats and plenty of vegetables, a good value dinner and an enjoyable evening.

No idea why this is so popular. The food whilst plentiful at a help yourself carvery is dull and tasteless. The bread sauce was like wallpaper paste and the stuffing like school glue . The meat was over cooked and vegetables bland. It may be so- called good value but you get what you pay for. I won't return to... More

Visited the carvery on a Sunday evening for my grandads birthday and have to say that it was the best carvery I've ever had! All the food was lovely and fresh and you couldn't fault the service, we were never kept waiting and also felt comfortable and not pressured into ordering straight away or being hurried along. Was really impressed... More

This must be one of the best carveries i have visited. They are always busy so the food is fresh at all times. You don't have to book so sometimes have to wait to be seated but there's room to sit and wait in the bar so have a drink. The staff are great and it's a real friendly atmosphere. Choice... More

Excellent food, quality and quantity, have been on numerous occasions, Sundays however gets very busy, best to book or you can wait up to an hour . if the weather is fine there is outdoor space to relax, but that makes it busier still. worth a trip.

This Toby Carvery is supposedly the busiest of them all, which means that the food is constantly being replenished. Ordinarily I am not a fan of carveries because I often find the food gets dry under the heat lights, but here there is no chance of that and even the queuing isn't too bad. The staff are excellent and the... More

A good honest hearty meal served buffet style, reasonably priced, downside, restaurant busy most of the time so best to choose out of conventional meal times. Good parking, and occasionally vouchers offered for reductions if on web .

This carvery incidently also offers visits to local schools where a great incite is offered into a working kitchen. Wortha visit on... More

I went to The Artichoke on Sunday the 26th January with my partner and son, and my Dad and his wife. First the good points, the surroundings were excellent, the staff very attentive and helpful. The carvery was very good, plenty of fresh veg, three choices of meat - Beef, Pork and Turkey (I went for a large portion which... More
