This was a birthday lunch for my husband and a first visit for the four of us that went. We found the pre-lunch bar area very comfortable and the service from the young lady on duty excellent. We selected our lunch choices from the menus presented to us and when we were ready were shown to our table. Not having... More

Thanks to host Vicky. I was taken to Masons today for a special treat by my godparents and the lunch today was superb. On arrival the service was first class, the embience relaxed , we agree the pea & ham soup was delicious especially with the mint, the mason salad is a delight & I loved the sauce with the... More

There is a very large car park so no worry about parking. Drinks can be taken at the bar area whilst you look at the menu, and as others have mentioned, there is a pianist playing. ( we found this far too loud when we arrived even through we sat right across the other side of the restaurant, we gave... More

It was difficult getting in over bank holiday but they managed to give us a table in the evening. A nice welcome and reasonable menu. The starters were very good . I enjoyed brilliant pea and ham soup and my plaice pain course was superb. On the whole a nice evening although not cheap .

We came here for a romantic meal. Upon arriving the service was brilliant. It wasn't busy (Wednesday night) so can't comment on how good the service would be at busier times, but we were very pleased with the service. Asked the staff about the best wine suited to our tastes - was given a couple of options, but no offer... More

First visit to Masons , found the staff very pleasant and attentive, the restaurant and bar area had a pleasant and relaxing feel accompanied by a pianist. The menu was not extensive in choice but the food on offer was very good and reasonably priced. Will definitely be returning in the near future!

We decided to revisit Mason's as we had eaten there before. It did not disappoint. The meal was delicious. The whole sole was particularly good. The staff were courteous and attentive. We'll be back.

Second time here, a good Saturday night out, well worth a visit. A good standard of food, nice service and happy staff. Well run restaurant and kitchen. Will have to visit the second restaurant albeit a bit further afield.

Was slightly sceptical having read some recent reviews, however this is a very nice restaurant. The food is well cooked and presented perfectly. The waiting staff are pleasantly chatty and provided good unobtrusive service. I can recommend the dressed crab, the calves liver ( yummy bubble and sqeek!) and also one of the widest choices of cheese I have seen... More

We visited Masons as a family of 5 ~ we have eaten here before with mixed experiences over the years. We have had some excellent meals and some terrible meals; so I was feeling a little cautious! Perhaps a change of chef means everything but we were pleasantly surprised. The read tyrant was busy. We dined at 3.15 and our... More
