The pub has a great buzzy atmosphere plus quirky decor and I would definitely return for a drink but I would think twice about returning for dinner. Blue cheese and walnut salad was good but the mains were disappointing. Plaice was tiny , salad with it unimaginative and partners burger very small... read more

It was obviously meant to be for us. My now Fiance tried to book a table here for valentines with the intention of proposal, but it was sadly fully booked, however a few weeks later once we were engaged, he told me his intention to book the Bell for Valentines a few weeks before, I checked out the website and... Read some good reviews and while driving through the area one evening decided to call in. Nice pub for a pint. Food was very limited as we were told that most of the menu was not available. I decided on the open Ravioli which was ok but very limited and not great in its presentation. My partners choice was the... More

Fantastic is the first word that comes to mind and which covers a quirky hotel with excellent service (we could not fault the staff - friendly and they went that extra mile to be helpful), scrumptious food (which is locally sourced and promotes local businesses) and in a wonderful location with lots to see and do. Our room "hush of... More

We found this amazing hotel by chance through the Internet took the chance to spend a midweek night at the hotel. The staff on the phone were so lovely and helpful and so normal and engaging. We arrived very late and they kept the kitchen open for us thank god as we were starving and we were richly awarded with... More

We visited The Bell for an evening meal on Mothers Day. We had been meaning to visit The Bell for ages and as my wife had been recovering from major surgery this was to be a special family occasion. We were shown to our table promptly and our orders taken. We chose different dishes - burgers, lamb and ravioli. This... More

Hello BATravellerLondon, I'm sorry to hear that you had such a poor experience. We work very hard to ensure that our guests enjoy their time with us and it's really disappointing to hear that on this occasion things were not as they should have been. I will of course address this with my team but should you wish to discuss... More

We have just returned from a night at The Bell and it really is Wonderland. We started with Sunday lunch and the food did not disappoint I had the goats curd starter which is possibly the best thing I have ever eaten in a restaurant. The pub is charming and quirky with a large roaring fire at one end and... More

We wanted a couple of nights away from it all, and were very pleased with our choice. The Bell has some quirky features, interesting, very clean, everything you could want in your room and a lovely comfortable bed. Food is excellent and chef is happy to accommodate different needs/requests. Staff are excellent and obviously very proud to be working there... More

Have eaten at the Bell many times but never felt the food lived up to the atmosphere and decor. They now have a new chef and the food is excellent. Shared a Steak for two with my son and we thought it was one of the best. They also source the meat from a local farm called 'Coopers'. I like... More
