We wanted a couple of nights away from it all, and were very pleased with our choice. The Bell has some quirky features, interesting, very clean, everything you could want in your room and a lovely comfortable bed. Food is excellent and chef is happy to accommodate different needs/requests. Staff are excellent and obviously very proud to be working there... More

Have eaten at the Bell many times but never felt the food lived up to the atmosphere and decor. They now have a new chef and the food is excellent. Shared a Steak for two with my son and we thought it was one of the best. They also source the meat from a local farm called 'Coopers'. I like... More

On the way somewhere else, I spotted this pub in a certain famous guide, so we called in for a drink and a snack. It appears older than it probably is, but fresh, clean and uncluttered. Small but adequate range of local ales, decent wine selection. We only had starters - they were excellent - pear blue cheese & radicchio,... More

what I,as a Scot, would think of as a typical Home Counties village pub, with roaring fire and choice roasts on offer. Like a Hollywood version too, with all the trappings, and more, including music sheet wallpaper around the loos, and the gents' subbing French horns or bassoons for the urinals....need to be accurate here, lads! Nice atmosphere and good Sunday food probably justify the rather high... More

We had dinner here at last; we had passed a few times and looked at the TripAdvisor reviews and finally made it for a Saturday evening at short notice. It was a busy night, the dining area was full and there was a wedding in the function room. We were a bit surprised that the dining room was not more... More

We hired the stable room for my Fathers 80th yesterday for 16 people , what a great time we had . It was nice and warm in there and we were allowed to decorate it. The food was great and service was great and we had a wonderful day , thank you very much.

Overall the food was good, but there was something missing in the service. Staff generally friendly but not warm. Prices on the high side, but the portions were of a good size. Other reviews are better than this, maybe we had an off night?

I have not actually eaten in the restaurant but the couple of visits I have paid to the Bell have been pretty impressive. A roaring log fire on a winter day is a fine sight for a start. Both times, we just wanted a drink and a snack, and the bar menu was perfect. They offer three tapas-style dishes for... More

We had read good reviews, so were looking forward to our visit. We had booked a 6pm dinner. It was a Friday evening. Arrived at 6pm to find the menus were still being printed. We were shown to our table by 6.20, but still didn't have our order taken until 6.30. The food was good, but nothing special. Between the... More

Good evening and thank you for your review. I was disappointed to hear that you had such an average experience with us. We are essentially an inn serving good, locally sourced food but we do try to make it special so it is always disheartening to hear that one of our guests did not enjoy it as much as we'd... More
