I chose the pate, followed by Steak frites. The pate tasted good, and the main course gave me good piece of meat with a generous salad accompaniment. However, my wife's Prawn cocktail was very average ("I could have made better myself.") and her Salmon Fishcakes...well you had to look hard to find the tiny pieces of salmon amongst the rest... My Father and I went to an Art exb in the De La Warr and found this fantastic Bistro afterwards for Lunch. The service was a delight and the waiter made us laugh, he advised me and my father on a beer in which we enjoyed. The Food was cooked for us My Father had a 10 oz steak which... More

For the money paid the food was disappointing. The use of fancy lettuce as a salad garnish filled a third of the plate, the chicken I had filled another third. When they arrived separately, the "frites" filled the plate. The chicken, though served in a sauce, was dry and unappealing. Thank God for the sauce. Although the waiter was reasonably... More

This is a good place for either lunch or dinner. When we last came we enjoyed bread with a very tasty olive paste, followed by moules - like all good Belgian restaurants they are offered in any number of ways. Forget the wine - we recommend trying one of the flavoured beers which are part of Belgium's speciality. Two of... More

An interesting but unpretentious exterior hides a surprise package. A Belgian themed café style restaurant with fantastic food and beers. Great find !!

Lovely food and beer and you feel like they work hard to ensure you enjoy your meal. They have had a long overdue refurb which means it feels clean and inviting. They have reduced the excessive menus which now really does the food justice. I do love their great selection of Belgium beers and the service has been great on... More

First visit to Bistro 45 Friendly welcome and had a seat by the window. We had the 2 course set menu. Really good value at 7.95 each. Both starters excellent. Whitebait was served with lovely fresh salad and the pate came with yummy fresh bread and caramalised onions. Our mains of classic mussels and frites best we have had and... More
