This was a real treat - excellent menu, laid-back atmosphere and very friendly and helpful staff. A huge choice of Belgian beers and sensibly priced wine list. We found this bistro on our first night in Bexhill and returned on both remaining evenings. Enjoyed all our meals - muscles a speciality but a good choice of other dishes too.

I've been to Bistro 45 before when it was still called Café Belge. This time I went without Madame and had a starter of Duck satay with peanut sauce. The sauce came in a bowl the size of a thimble and did not taste or even smell like peanut at all. ( there wouldn't have space even for ONE peanut... More

Visited this bistro first whilst staying in Bexhill in 2013 and found the menu absolutely stunning and the food was out of this world. Went back again recently whilst staying in Hastings and it was equally as good. The menu is vast especially the mussels although there are other varied meals on the menu. The food is presented well and... More

Stumbled across this little bistro by accident and I'm very glad we did. Service with a genuine smile, stunning home made food at very good prices. They are well known for their mussels but if this isn't your thing there are plenty of other dishes to choose from. They also have daily specials and 2 or 3 course offers on.... More

Dropped in to this little oddity while visiting Bexhill. Wow! Great find! The interior of the bistro is completely wacky, all sorts of retro memorabilia and some just completely random stuff. It has a real homely feel, quite bohemian. The menu is stunning, with the mussels cooked in 45 ways being the obvious attraction. I had the "Seafood Pot" while... More

Went here for lunch-if you are on a budget it's great value with a three course set menu for £9.95. I had mushroom soup to start with, followed by the chicken and chorizo salad with a Belgian waffle to finish. I would rate the food as good if uninspiring but you will not leave hungry. It really is a moules... More

An unattractive exterior hides a gem here...good quality cooking, reasonable prices, friendly service and eccentric decor (loved the old comics wallpaper). To be fair, some of the dishes weren't as good as others, but the mussels are obviously the main attraction here, and are delicious.
