Nice food but dirty and rude staff

I have eaten here before and the food has always been faultless, very tastes and always hot. However ...... With only five tables in and two members of young staff clearing tables it's clear you don't have to have an IQ to get a job working here! It took both of them to wipe down one table and take... read more

We went there on a Thursday. Not busy at all. I ordered the carvery extra large. When getting the food we were ignored for several minutes by the chef as he walked in and out of the kitchen when he did decide to serve us I was told there was no pie and it would be a long time until... More

My partner and I arrived early when it opened as it was Mother's Day and due to not being able to book tables at this restaurant we didn't want to miss out. The food was lovely £20 for 2 of us for the Carvery and a drink each, staff were very pleasant to, a lovely early roast to set us... More

The crown carvery is a good place to go with friends and family. Good quality food and usually a couple of vegetarian options I find a lot of the time I just have the vegetables with which I am really satisfied. For meat eaters there is usually three choices of meat.

Been here a few times. Quality seems to depend upon which manager is on. basically its a pile it high carvery although they serve the meat (thinly sliced). Sometimes the vegetables are fresh and sometimes they are left to dry out under the heat - it really is pot luck. But you know what you are getting for £5 a... More

I have eaten here twice now, but I won't be eating here a third time. The plates were greasy and the cutlery dirty. Actually the whole place felt dirty. The food was basic, and that is being polite. My fried bread was absolutely solid. The tomatoes were tinned and just awful and there were no mushrooms. If you want cheap... More

Arrived 5pm on Sunday with a party of 20. I had called ahead the previous Monday to arrange space as we were celebrating a family birthday. I had been told I would get a phonecall if there were any problems. No phone call no problem? WRONG!! We were met with an extremely busy pub and nowhere available to sit. I... More

Ok If you are in a hurry and have a budget, but personally I'd rather eat indoors. The cutlery and plates aren't exactly pristine either.
