Eating out

The crown carvery is a good place to go with friends and family. Good quality food and usually a couple of vegetarian options I find a lot of the time I just have the vegetables with which I am really satisfied. For meat eaters there is usually three choices of meat.

Been here a few times. Quality seems to depend upon which manager is on. basically its a pile it high carvery although they serve the meat (thinly sliced). Sometimes the vegetables are fresh and sometimes they are left to dry out under the heat - it really is pot luck. But you know what you are getting for £5 a... More

I have eaten here twice now, but I won't be eating here a third time. The plates were greasy and the cutlery dirty. Actually the whole place felt dirty. The food was basic, and that is being polite. My fried bread was absolutely solid. The tomatoes were tinned and just awful and there were no mushrooms. If you want cheap... More

Arrived 5pm on Sunday with a party of 20. I had called ahead the previous Monday to arrange space as we were celebrating a family birthday. I had been told I would get a phonecall if there were any problems. No phone call no problem? WRONG!! We were met with an extremely busy pub and nowhere available to sit. I... More

Ok If you are in a hurry and have a budget, but personally I'd rather eat indoors. The cutlery and plates aren't exactly pristine either.

I have been here before and it was okay then but today the Sunday Roast Carvery was better. More expensive than last time but worth it. We went about 12.30 and it was not too busy. We left an hour later and it was packed. One criticism is the cleanliness in places fell short. There was a lot of mould... More

Basic dry Turkey, decent gammon, and nice roast beef with the usual sides. Mashed potatoes, roast potatoes, gravy, Yorkshire puddings, carrots, cauliflower, chips and peas. About the third time going there and always the same. Except this time, I ordered Mac n cheese from the menu and it was divine. And everyone loved the desserts.

Ok here's my review after being offered a replacement free meal by manager after an awful meal a few weeks ago. If u want dry tough meat, earthy dry roast potatoes, veg from freezer including Yorkshires, stuffing you could bounce off the wall and to top it all off cold food :( this is the place to be. Still can't... More

We took my 85 year old Mum here for her pre birthday meal and to celebrate Christmas. To be honest I am not a fan of Crown Carveries as my husband and I have had a bad experience on a few occasions at our local Crown Carvery pub near to where we live in Telford. My Mum loves this pub... More
