Good food!!

Visited the Bull Inn on recommendation for a Sunday Roast and were not disappointed. Food was very well cooked and was piping hot. There was so much that we did not have room for dessert. The house Rosé was also wonderful. Good pricing and the waitress was extremely pleasant and attentive. The only... read more

We dropped in in the afternoon to see if there were any real ales on and were pleasantly surprised to find several very pleasant, well kept local ales on hand pull.

We had a nice casual lunch here before visiting Battle Abbey and had a really nice time. Great beers on tap and a nice variety of wine. The bartender and servers were great; really charming and nice. There was a small group of locals who were friendly and welcoming without being intrusive at all. Everyone has a great sense of... More

My friend and and I went in for lunch based on recommendation as vegetarians and the choices were limited, poor, unimaginative and badly presented. The Vegeburger was a mushroom with some cheese in a bun with chips and a salad garnish, for £9, and my friend had a poor quality veggie sausage and mash for £9 with veg extra. Avoid... More

We had lunch here. There was a local meeting finishing up so she squeeked us in the huge fireplace. Lovely local atmosphere. Good food, but come for the giant burger.

I liked that the gang at the bar were locals and really enjoying each other and the bar tender. I grew weary when they were more important than everyone else in the bar. Food was average. I had some chili and beer. Maybe I was in the wrong spot. Loved Battle.

Went as 4 adults and 2 children (12& 2 yr olds for a late Sunday lunch).Really friendly and helpful waitress. Ordered off menu for 2 yr old (how DannyDevito) but it was absolutely no problem. Starters were good. Two of us had roast pork and it was ok but not out of this world, however the food is reasonably priced... More

I have frequented the Bull Inn a number of times for meals and lunchtime drinks since working in Battle. Each time I have the same experience, which can be summed up with the title. Great beers, good staff but the food is average at best. First the positives...beer selection is great, nice lagers, local bitters, with a mix of the... More

The grub and the beer..........the service was excellent too. A roaring fire kept the cold at bay and we enjoyed a healthy dinner in the rear bar.
