Excellent Food and Service

From the moment we entered the pub we were made MOST welcome. We had not made a reservation - no problem! There is a good menu with a number of choices on all courses, plus daily specials. Three of us had a very good lunch here. Nice to go to a pub that has some more unusual dishes, and that were all well cooked. I had goat with a pearl barley broth which was delicious and the Thai green vegetable curry was also very good . Portions were just right, staff very helpful and the beer was... More

Had an evening meal here with another couple on a weekend and seated near the fireplace. It would have been nice if there was a fire in place rather than an electric heater (turned off) to give a little more warmth and inviting atmosphere. The food was fine but not very large portions for the price. I much prefer the... More

I love this pub. Ive been here before twice for works leaving do's, so have had only eaten sharing platters. I took mum and dad for lunch here this week. We actually were going to eat in The Golden Key, Snape, but swiftly walked out because the girl behind the bar never even looked at us and it was so... More

We visited in January 2015. Just my fiancé and I. We booked in advance as heard it was popular and we visited on a Sunday. The place was very inviting, staff so friendly and it was absolutely heaving so that says it all. The owners rear their own meat and have produce from their own allotment. The food was presented... Had a mid week evening meal here whilst staying locally. Roaring log fire, friendly service and tasty food. Can't fault it. Wish we lived nearer.

Often eat in Aldeburgh but wanted to try somewhere else. What a find, just how an English pub should be, great surroundings, brilliant staff and most of all quality food. Can recommend both the pork and the fish platters, superb! Will definitely visit again

On a chilly, damp day we were made very welcome and sat in front of the fire with our wet dog and had a very nice lunch. Good service, nice food and great comfort - what more could you want!
