The food was very good and the service was friendly. We found it to be very expensive with our lunch of soup, salad and coffee costing $60. It was nice for an experience but very pricey

Not a bad place for a small snack, however the Welsh rarebit was so mustardy you couldn't taste any cheese and the toasted sourdough bread, whilst tasty, was incredibly hard - good job I have strong teeth! Dentures and you would be unable to eat it. The Caesar salad looked OK but small and the home made lemonade delicious but... More

Good cafe with excellent cafe and absolutely fabulous chocolate and salted caramel macaroons. They look small but it would be almost impossible to eat two! Very efficient and pleasant staff and a reasonably priced lunch menu.

We had been here once before in the previous summer, but at that time, we were totally ignored so that we walked out without ordering. We were back in the area again, so we thought we would try it again. This time absolutely no complaints about the service which was friendly and effective. We had a salad and a chowder... More

It's said to be a "man thing"; I can rarely opt out of an "all day breakfast". It wasn't an "all you can eat" meal, but the quality of the food compensated for this. Only one sausage; but it was about 9 to 10 inches long! (from Dingley Dell farms), and tasted fantastic. The toast had, apparently, been baked in... More

Must admit thought this would be pretentious and overpriced but could not have been more wrong! Delicious locally sourced food at very agreeable prices - by far the best value of the eateries we found at the maltings. We had the Welsh rarebit and the spinach and feta parcels and they were delicious! Fabulous!

Had coffee & cake here last Saturday which we had not done in at least a year. It's a shame but we felt that the service and food were lacking somewhat. Lots of tables had not been cleared so we (2pax) were forced to take a table for 4. I found our waitress very cold and impersonal, I asked if... More

Readily got a table on Tuesday at 1315, menu prompt and order taken quickly by a very pleasant waitress who was happy to talk about the local ingredients and variety of dishes. Good leaf tea came quickly but as commented elsewhere the pot did not pour well. We had smoked salmon on toast from Pinneys which was excellent and a... More

We visited for snack lunch a week or so ago as we have done many times. Unbeknown to us the power had only been restored the evening before after the Monday storm. A limited menu would have been understandable but the food supplied was not. The "pie" and mash was hardly warm. Suspect that it had either been put on... More
