Nice snack

Went here on the way back from Aldeburgh. SNape is very quaint with some lovely independent shops. Cafe 1885 is a nice opportunity to sit and rest and take in the view. I had the BLT which was very nice excellent bacon whilst my wife had salmon and eggs. Worth a stop

A nice place for coffee and cakes in great surroundings with good service. Plenty to look at and buy in the shop!

The coffee took three sugars to be vaguely drinkable. We both spend the next two hours feeling ill and it was nothing to do with the driving!!. Also also Took 10mins to take an order and then another 20mins for 2 coffees to arrive. Staff were busy but not that busy. 100 )

I note that some reviews mention the lack of choice but I feel they are missing the point. This is a comparatively small restaurant which prepares its food fresh from local sources when possible. The menu changes on a regular basis. The staff have always been friendly and efficient and have been willing to tweek the order to suit dietary... More

Very busy cafe that is great for breakfast or a cake and a coffee but choices for lunch were rather limited. If you want lunch advise Plough and Sail next door

Good service and nice food - we only had tea and the "cake of the day" which was an orange cake - nice and moist without being soggy and an excellent flavour. The staff were friendly and efficient. Another good place to go with my wheelchair bound husband as there's a lift up to the cafe and the accessible toilet

We had lunch here on a wet Wenesday, the cafe was packed and noisy (low ceiling in part). There were several children, but the noise not due to them. We had duck confit which was good, but the sauté potatoes were cold and not properly cooked. Good cheesecake to follow. The two waitresses were pleasant but struggled to serve so... More

Situated in, and over looking the lovely Home and Garden shop in Snape Maltings, the café offers a welcome and convenient venue for refreshment ... had lunch here and it was delicious. Friendly atmosphere, and the décor is modern and comfortable, with a sofa area as well as tables for various numbers of guests. We had fish and chips and... More

Using a lot of high quality, local produce, Cafe 1885 offers and interesting menu for breakfast or lunch and a magnificent afternoon tea. Food is freshly cooked and our dietary requirements were easily and happily accommodated. We have no hesitation in recommending a meal here.

Arrived on opening on a Tuesday. Nice warm welcome and excellent service. Good, strong coffee. Both had the full breakfast which was fantastic. Quality ingredients cooked perfectly. We had a table overlooking the home store which was fun for people watching while we ate.
