Good food but cafe a little chilly

Had a delicious fish and chip lunch here on Saturday. The only thing I would say is that it was really quite cold in the cafe - I guess due to the outside temperature and the fact the place wasn't full. Wasn't the most comfortable experience because of this. Also the bread and butter came and it... read more

This cafe is one of my favourite places to eat. I count myself as lucky to have it on my doorstep because the location is wonderful too. Went there yesterday with a friend for lunch and just had to review it again. The battered cod they served was the best fish I have ever had. It was melt in the... More

Just had a fish and chip lunch at this cafe. It must be under new management. The staff were friendly and welcoming. A delight as they were not previously. The ambiance is great. The fish and chips were superb. Obviously cooked in clean oil and the batter on the fish was light and crisp. The meal was served very hot... More

The food was spot on. The best fish and chips we have eaten in years. It even beats Rick Steins fish and chips in padstow. The atmosphere was quaint and spot on. Even though we had to queue we all still had a seat together. My only gripe is all the tomato sauce bottles were empty!

Visited and had tea and cake whilst friends indulged themselves with chips etc. I have been here many times over the years and am confused now by American Diner décor on rural Suffolk coastline, this is clearly an indulgence on the part of the owners and just doesn't work. The food is ok and served quickly but is not cheap... More

Average was our opinion the last time we did a review for the Ferry Cafe, happy to say that it seems to have stepped up a gear. a mark of 3.5 ( Good ) not quite very good but better than just average. Service, food and everything seems that little bit better. Great outdoor seating area.

Our recent visit to this cafe for lunch was disappointing. We liked the decor, atmosphere and friendly staff but the fish and chips were fairly dire. The chips were the worst we have had in a long time and my cod (actually I had ordered plaice but never mind) was almost nonexistent in a cloud of batter which promised much... More

It's a real gem! Decked out in retro everything it's absolutely lovely. The food especially the fish dishes are fab, it's atmoshere and sounds of the 60s are memorable . The staff delightfull, and the cost is about right. I love it. Only thing is the ventolation could be improved, that is my only negative . It's a must if... More

Went to the Ferry Cafe today for the first time and had a fabulous meal. Truly fresh fish and chips and a fabulous ferry burger. The service was fantastic from very polite and efficient staff and we are already planning our next visit!

Perched on raised legs at the end of the road is the Ferry Cafe. Fantastic 50's style cafe with vinyl table clothes and funky decor. Very clean inside and friendly staff. The fish and chips are great and good value at around £8.00 per head. Good portions so go hungry! The menu is comprehensive and the Burgers looked huge! A... More
