Visited here in the first summer this restaurant was open so as we were in Norfolk we thought we'd make another visit. The decor is lovely with a nice outside seating area. The cream tea is delicious, mouth watering scones with lovely clotted cream and jam. A lovely place to go for a snack, lunch, evening meal or just a... More

We went to this cafe in the morning when we stayed in nearby Beachamwell. After wandering around Swaffham looking for a place we can have our breakfast in, we spotted this place. It is probably the most inviting cafe in Swaffham, as other places look a little bit too 'local'. We enjoyed our coffee and blt. It's definitely good for... More

As always a friendly place to eat, with well presented tasty food. Although unusually we had to ask the waiter to exchange our cups for ones that did not have tea stain on. Always a treat to eat here. We were lucky enough to be blessed with sunshine so we could sit outside.

We stopped on a whim during a busy lunchtime service. We sat outside enjoying the sunshine. They didn't have time to stop and chat but were polite and helpful. The food was first rate, crayfish salad and a good selection of non alcoholic cold drinks too. Inside is very quaint and full of character. I will be going back.

Stopped by with friends for coffee and scones, it's a very quaint old building with small rooms and old furniture, there is also tables outside. We had a selection of scones between us, which were all very nice, the cappuccino was just ok. As for the staff, they need to be more cheerful.

Lovely little restaurant, very pretty but the food was very disappointing, greasy food. Left feeling quite ill. Very poor, will certainly not be going again!

I always try and stop here on my way to North Norfolk. The coffee is fantastic and I love the quaintness of the place. I have always found the staff really friendly and helpful. Great food too.

This was such a pretty place, and the home made soup was nice - hate nice, the service was slow and the waitress was miserable, such a disappointment, not an experience that I'd care to repeat.

Enjoyable afternoon tea at The Market cross, situated on the Market square in Swaffham, I little bit of sunshine makes your heart sing add to that a deliciously warm homemade scone served with clotted cream and strawberry jam, a hot pot of freshly made tea and I'm in heaven ! Polite and friendly staff topped off a great afternoon spent... More

I have been here many times for lunch and never found the staff rude or the food mediocre. I love this place the ambiance the standard and the quality is fabulous and I enjoy the experience everytime. Do not be put off by any previous reviews as this would be my recommendation if you fancied some food in Swaffham.
