Lovely pub in a quaint village setting

We paid a visit here on route to seeing the seals and were pleased we did. It's very nicely presented inside and all the staff were very friendly. The menu looked great but sadly they were fully booked so we settled for hot chocolates. These were grout over quickly and were excellent. The gents... read more

A family group of 20 of us had a wonderful experience at the Anchor. We had pre-ordered fish and chips for the entire group and it was made clear that we would have to eat in shifts but, actually, the food was served really promptly and no one was kept waiting for long. When it was served the food was... More

We stopped off at The Anchor to collect our seal boat tickets to Blakeney Point. The trip was fantastic… tens of seals and wonderful birds on a lovely sunny day chaperoned by a very well-informed, charismatic guide. We opted to have lunch on our return and it was very good. The pub was quiet on a Monday. I had scallops... More

Have just had a truly excellent meal at the Anchor Inn at Morston. Can highly recommend this friendly gastro pub run by two young men who deserve to succeed. A friendly welcome, excellent service and food and to cap it all a lift back to Blakeney in the pub Land Rover! Brilliant!

My fiancee & I were driving along the North Norfolk coast road after an afternoon in Cromer, we were both feeling hungry & stopped on the off chance of getting a table. The staff were very friendly & helpfull, it was early evening so we managed to get a table. The restaurant soon became very busy with booked in guests.... More

We visited the Anchor on the recommendation of our hosts John and Louisa Clark of White Horse Farm, Gunthorpe. We had been assured of a warm welcome - not only for us, but also for our little corgi, Molly. We weren't disappointed, the bar was warm, welcoming, friendly and cosy. Molly was made a fuss of by our waitress (sorry,... More

Called in for lunch, and a pint, whilst exploring the beautiful North Norfolk coast, where we are lucky enough to live. On entering, we had to look around the bar and dining area to see if there was a free table, then enquire at the bar, as there was no welcome or acknowledgement that we were even there ! When... Staff were curt and unhelpful,to the extent I was referred to as that woman there! The food was average. I had the fish and chips and it was pretty tasteless and the portion to my standards was mean for the price. Husband had the pork chop special and again it was a mean portion for the price. Although he did... More

Good saturday evening meal here with family. We had a nice spacious table - although be aware that there are some rooms off rooms, which can seem a bit quite. The menu was good - i would have preferred a greater emphasis on fish. We had duck & steak. Steak was served with a salad, fries & a very yummy... More
