Enjoyed an excellent lunch in the sun at The Anchor Inn. Service was first class - friendly & attentive, yet unobtrusive. Particularly strong on timing; knowing how long to leave between courses etc. Food was very good, with an emphasis on excellent local seafood. Certainly a notch above your... read more

We went as a party of six. The main course were good, with reasonable sized portions. The puddings were so tiny, at £6,95 each. Mine was a couple of mouthfuls plus three raspberries!

My friend had raved about this local pub restaurant and we were all keen to try it. Initially it didn't start well as the window table which we had reserved had been given to other guests but the owners were extremely apologetic and helpful in finding another suitable table for us with a bottle of wine. There were lots of... More

Disappointed expecting a medium rare steak I got 3 strips of steak? Fries were of the frozen variety.....? I raved to a friend how good the food was and quiet frankly I spent £40+ on substandard food ......soo embarrassing! My friend was just as disappointed with her lamb :-/

We recently held our wedding reception for 45 guests at the Anchor Inn. From the start Rowan and Harry were superb: Excellent communication throughout with a innovative tasty menu and late night buffet, good size well decorated function room arranged to our request, relaxed atmosphere and nothing was too much trouble. The food was well prepared and delicious which our... More

Really pleasant pub with very pleasant surroundings and great pub food. the service was excellent and the menu was good with plenty of local sea food. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals and it was really good value as well. Another good find in this wonderful area

Arrived in Wells next the sea for a weeks' holiday after a long drive from the Midlands last Tuesday evening - we had heard very good reports about the Anchor in Morston and thought we'd give it a try for dinner - we hadn't booked, so had everything crossed. Fortunately, there was a table available for myself and my partner.... More

A little hidden Gem this one, you walk into a tiny quaint dog friendly pub which had already gotten too busy in the pub bit but we were led around the corner to a beautiful restaurant decorated in the most stylish of ways. The art work on the walls I found pleasing due to it being all local artists selling... More

The only problem eating here is deciding what to choose from the wide ranging, seasonal, inventive, balanced menu which has a focus on locally  sourced produce. It also includes some more eclectic accompaniments such as pickled Fennel and Monks Beard. I had wanted to eat here for some time purely based on the menu (which they upload to their website...
