Outstanding English pub grub and great service

Exceptional lunch. Fresh cooked mussels in a perfect sauce. Served with crusty homemade bread. Quaintly decorated atmospheric rooms, rather like old parlours. You have to be lucky to get a table as it's small and you may have to park on the green along the road. Service was delightful- what a... read more

After a lovely walk on the Norfolk Coast Path we had lunch at the Morston Anchor. We were warmly welcomed and offered a choice of tables in the cosy bar, a quiet room or the more formal restaurant. We sat in the restaurant with a glass of chilled Sauvignon Blanc and a well kept pint of Adnams Lighthouse and perused... More

Our table was in a small room off the bar area, which we liked as it was relatively peaceful on a Saturday lunch time. The fish in batter was exceptional, but extremely filling. Staff really friendly and helpful. .

We were spending the weekend in Morston and really looking forward to eating at Morston Hall on the Sunday. So what a fantastic and unexpected surpise we had when we decided to have a bit of lunch at the local pub the Anchor Inn when we arrived on the Friday. It was so good that we went back on Saturday... Very friendly and accommodating staff, made a late booking for a group of 6 and they found a way to squeeze us in. The menu was very appealing, had the roast beef which was one of the best roasts I've had out - perfectly cooked beef (two slices!), great yorkies and delicious veg, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Children loved their... More

Visited for lunch after a long walk with the dogs, who were welcome in the pub, but are very naughty so stayed in the car. Had a most enjoyable meal, piping hot, very flavoursome and good value for money, excellent. Lovely atmosphere, very helpful and polite staff, wouldn't hesitate to return.

Kids food tasty seems homemade and enjoyed and eaten by all with colouring pencils and sheets to keep them busy , nice pint of wherry and my Roast beef was very good and really tasty although (and I accept that possibly I'm being a little bit of... Wowe - what a find - we went up to see the Seals on Feb 15th and had to collect our tickets from the Anchor. We decided to stop there for a bite to eat before going out on the boat. The whole place is fantastic. Such a great atmosphere, such wonderful staff and a great menu too. Prices not... More

After a chilly trip to see the seals, my family and I wanted to stop at the local pub for some coffees, and found the Anchor. The atmosphere when we walked in was welcoming and warm, and the staff very accommodating and friendly, even lighting a fire for us! We sat in a little room off the bar, and ended... More

Eat here....that's all I can say. After a long walk along the North Norfolk costal path we had lunch here and the food was fantastic! Cosy surroundings, friendly staff and gorgeous grub, I had pigeon and my other half had lobster and the desserts, well, as I said...Eat here!!!!!!
