Worth a try

I can highly recommend the food, though it does lean towards a high majority of seafood dishes, unfortunately though the waitress was too attentive, she must have asked us if our meal was ok on at least 9 separate occasions. Also the acoustics of the room are not ideal if you have a large noisy... read more

Something to brighten up a soggy Bank Holiday weekend: a glorious meal out with friends in a fantastic local pub - a local that also happens to double up as a wonderful restaurant. The first thing that struck me was the menu was more imaginative than most - and largely based on ingredients from local produce. Secondly, the service was... More

This is a friendly relaxed pub with very good food made with easy quality ingreedients. There were 5 of us and all our food and sides came out together even though the place was very busy on a bank holiday weekend. It's more expensive than pub grub but the food is good quality and worth it. I'd definitely come again.

Not trying to be a gastropub this is a proper old fashioned pub, in the best way possible, beautifully decorated and with a great atmosphere. A real local. The food is heavenly, of excellent standard, and with a great variety of dishes. We were a large group but the dishes that I tried were the courgette flower stuffed with local... More

A slow drive in Bank Holiday sunshine and crowded roads meant that we arrived at the Anchor looking for rest and a light late lunch (we were en route to Cromer). A friendly welcome was followed by a sit down in the sunshine armed with a couple of refreshing drinks. However just to establish that we had arrived at the... More

Hard to fault this place - great staff, tempting menu with lots of local and seasonal produce, delicious food and at a good price.

Only had a cup of tea and biscuits (no cake available!) but the teapot was large and the tea (Earl Grey) was nice.

Delightful lunch which included a beautiful fish platter, as when by the sea fish is a must. Staff very polite and attentive. Price we found was very agreeable and set us up for an afternoons sight seeing at Morston Quay.

It's a couple of years since we were at the Anchor and last time we were blown away. Sadly it was disappointing this time, the food was average and still quite expensive. The waiting on staff however were excellent - couldn't have been more helpful.
