Good Meal, Friendly Service

My wife and I (and children on previous occasions) have eaten at The Anchor on many occasions when on holiday in North Norfolk. Always good, but over the years the standard of food and service has continued to improve. We visited on a cold February Tuesday evening and the pub was very quiet... read more

A firm favourite. Having eaten here many times, we have never been let down. Food is well cooked and always interesting. Good selection of local beers and friendly efficient staff.

Dined here tonight, an excellent meal of suet pudding followed by a syrup pudding with custard. The price was £14 for two courses, which was very good value, We sat by the fire which was welcome after a wet day and a damp evening. The service was good and I would recommend the Anchor. The ony downside, and nothing the... More

After looking at the menu i saw that thay did smoked mackerel in a sandwich and not... More

Walked from Blakeney to Morston along the footpath and was pretty hungry by the time we got there. Had boeuf bourguignon, truffle mash and buttered kale - it was as good as it sounds. My partner liked his fish and chips with pea puree and we had a side order of triple baked chips as I'd been once before, had... More

Fabulous pub, serving really good food. Contemporary menu, well cooked, excellent presentation. Service was very good. Staff knowledgable, helpful & attentive. Atmosphere was gorgeous, wood burner, gentle hum of conversation. Could have stayed all day! Enjoyed mushrooms on ciabatta with a side salad & a glass of Merlot. Delicious. Highly recommend, will visit again.

The pub had been recommended by a local and several of us ordered mussels. Unfortunately we felt the portions were extremely poor. A mussel starter for £7 had 10 mussels... Nearly the price of oysters! The main course mussels was not much better. We complained and were given a free 1/2 portion to make up between 4 of us. A... More

Exceptional lunch. Fresh cooked mussels in a perfect sauce. Served with crusty homemade bread. Quaintly decorated atmospheric rooms, rather like old parlours. You have to be lucky to get a table as it's small and you may have to park on the green along the road. Service was delightful- what a difference a cheerful smile makes. Toilets very clean -... After a lovely walk on the Norfolk Coast Path we had lunch at the Morston Anchor. We were warmly welcomed and offered a choice of tables in the cosy bar, a quiet room or the more formal restaurant. We sat in the restaurant with a glass of chilled Sauvignon Blanc and a well kept pint of Adnams Lighthouse and perused... More

Our table was in a small room off the bar area, which we liked as it was relatively peaceful on a Saturday lunch time. The fish in batter was exceptional, but extremely filling. Staff really friendly and helpful. .
