A real hidden gem, beautiful walled garden, excellent service, fantastic selection of cakes, proper tea in a proper teapot with strainer! There aren't enough superlatives to express what a find this tearoom is. We spent a glorious hour in the garden enjoying our scones, cake and tea. A definite to visit when in Holt. Will be going again very soon... More

We decided to try The Folly Tearoom for lunch based on a friends recommendation. It was busy but we waited a for a short while and were seated in the main part of the building. If we had booked I would think we could have the choice of being seated in the conservatory or courtyard garden. I ordered the Mushroom... More

We had not been able to book a table for my daughters birthday but 4 of us took a chance and turned up on 19th june. We were made very welcome and could order 2 full gluten free afternoon teas with no problem. our guests ordered hot lunches which were excellent too. It is so nice to find an establishment... More

I was a little apprehensive to suggest eating here for lunch, having read a few very negative reviews on tripadvisor some time ago, but the lovely little courtyard tea room at the end of one of Holt's recently revived back streets/yards had been intriguing me since its opening. We walked into the gate to be greeted by a sign asking... More

We were directed to this tea room from a nearby shop and thought it'd be ideal: proper china plates and cups, cloth napkins, the works! The tea was fine but oh dear, the scone! It crumbled into 20 or more pieces as I tried to cut it open to add butter. After trying to eat the resulting mess, we complained... More

We came in search of this tearoom after a recommendation of my grandmother. When we arrived we asked at the desk for a table and we were told to take a seat wherever we pleased and someone would be over shortly. We found a table outside in the beautiful garden and waited for 15 minutes before we were served. And... More

Love the setting of this tearoom- sage green chairs and tables amidst English perennials. Food equally lovely - quiche was delicious as we're the salads and scones. Only reason for 4 stars was that there weren't enough staff serving and so we has to wait quite a while to be served. Would definitely go back!
