Good Honest Pub Food

Nice friendly village pub with good honest pub food at a reasonable price. Service was efficient. Plenty of parking.

Despite sat nav got lost. Just as well because we came across the Chequers Inn in Binham Norfolk. Not only open all Sunday afternoon..we arrived at 3.30 it was serving food all day. As well as a great Sunday roast they had a very good Al a Carte menu. The vegetarian choices were excellent. All this and a true local... More

Our second visit in two weeks, and we just wish we lived near enough for this super little pub/restaurant to be our 'local'. The main menu may be looked on as being on the.usual basic spectrum, but on both occasions we found the Specials Board lived up to it's name with dishes that were very tasty, unusual and reasonably priced.... I have visited this pub over the years and enjoyed it.on our last visit,we found the food uninspired, the prices dear for the quality and the staff lacked the warm friendliness you expect from a village pub

Super Lunch, all freshly cooked. I had smoked Haddock on a bed of Leeks / cheese sauce & veg. Wife had charcoaled ham and vegetables. both Good portion's. Recommended via local store and we were not disappointed. We chose the higher priced items, but they were good value being all so freshly cooked. We shall return soon, as my wife,... More

Local pub of small village - very welcoming and helpful staff but only small so booking is strongly recommended. Good choice of food at reasonable price and real ales. Ideal location if staying in the area.but as said elsewhere it is not in Fakenham

My wife and I went to this lovely back water pub yet agaion for a family members birthday. I had the Pate for starters and grilled gammon for my main. Sevice was lovely, food was tatsy, prices were very resonable. It's not a cheap burger and chips type pub, it's real food, cooked with some pride and passion. It's so... More

Sat 29th August. Order placed at 18:30. We ordered 3 Paella with Chorizo (also served with french bread), 1 steak pie and 1 burger. Paella was awful, as if it had been defrosted. Strangest paella rice I have ever seen, watery seafood and completely tasteless, chorizo was so small I did not realise it was it. Bread was part baked... More

Knowing this would be busy, due to its reputation, we booked ahead for Sunday lunch. I ordered the chargrilled tuna on a spicy salad with new potatoes. It was perfectly cooked tasted excellent. Everyone else ordered; the roast beef Sunday dinner, two others had the gammon steaks. Everyone enjoyed their meals. We were too full for dessert. Afterwards we walked... More

We were a party of four adults and pre-booked a table for lunch. On arrival, we were shown to our reserved table in a very nice location next to the window. Our drinks order was taken promptly and was advised that there was a "specials menu" on offer in addition to the normal Al a carte menu. We all chose... More
