Shocking experience in every respect. New owners have taken over and I am waiting for them to respond to our complaints. 8 of us for a family meal on Sunday. 2 meals were served, and as we were seasoning them they were taken away as they were meant for other customers. I hope they like lots of pepper! The beefburger... More

Found this place using the excellent signage, the food was great, had the ham egg and chips and the ham was top quality, the eggs were cooked just perfectly too, nice and runny. The service was great, I think it was the landlady, she was very well mannered and polite and too great care of us. Definitely considering coming back... More

Staying nearby and couldn't be bothered to cook so went exploring and discovered The Bell. Mid February and absolutely freezing evening so the pub was empty but we received a friendly welcome and great service. Food was fine (lasagne, chicken curry, spotted dick, fudge cake) and certainly of very good 'pub quality'. Meals were from '2 for £15' menu and... More

We were enticed by the road side signs telling us what a good place The Bell is to eat. We should have taken the first warning sign when we asked for coffee. "The machine's broken" she replied in a manner that suggested we were somehow responsible. I ordered orange juice and got one of those minuscule bottles that are generally... More

took family there for Sunday lunch and were all very disappointed with the poor slow service and the food was frankly inedible. We all had different meals but all meals arrived cold and dried up so badly you couldnt cut much of it, Glass we received a diet coke in had someones lipstick still on it too!

On the way to Swaffham Bulbeck from Buckinghamshire vie Bungay (!), we stopped off for lunch here having see the signs for it on the verge of the main road. We don't know the area at all and found it to be a delightful village and an even better place to eat. Strange mixture of cosy, comfortable and "work in... More

We won a voucher for a free Sunday lunch with a personalized letter from the owners. I couldn't fault it one bit, even if we had to pay for our meal i couldn't grumble. Excellent value for a fantastic hearty Sunday roast. I will most certainly be back! Brilliant place!

We've visited to eat twice, both lunches. The food and drink were both excellent, and the service was friendly and generous. Astonishingly good value for us Londoners, for food that was fresh, seasonal and beautifully prepared. The new-ish patio was well-maintained and sunny, making a cheery feature on the car-park side of the building. How good to find a restaurant... More
