The majority of our group of 12 people thought the food was excellent - a wide choice, particularly of fish dishes, including some more unusual ones, perfectly cooked and very tasty. The king prawn stir fry certainly got a 9/10 from me. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the meal and drinks were served promptly. This is not a smart... More

My family came here to have an evening meal. One good factor was that it accepted our small dog in the restaurant. Food was OK, even though I found a small piece of egg shell in my cheese and wild mushroom omelette, and I could be wrong but the mushrooms appeared to be more like button mushrooms rather than wild... It was my first time there, and sadly my last. my husband ordered dover sole when it came in our opinion it wasn't cooked, so we sent it back, of which it was just put back under the grill, still my husband was unable to lift the bone from the fish. We were told it was because the fish was... More

We were boating on The Broads and walked up to Acle for lunch. The welcome at The Hermitage was exceptional and we were offered the special lunch menu. 3 of us opted for the dog fish (rock salmon) whilst the 4th person had cod and chips. The meals were all excellent in taste and very good value. The front extension... More

We went to the Hermitage for a second after whilst spending time on the Norfolk broads. I chose this restaurant as I have a love for fish and it was my birthday after all. Our group had scallops and crab to start, both delicious - the scallops the best I've ever tasted!! Second we had lemon sole stuffed with prawns,... More

After 2 days of eating cold meals on our rental boat we couldn't wait to sit in a nice restaurant and eat good cooked food. Saw the Hermitage was reviewed well and specialised in local seafood so we were understandably excited. Upon arrival. A comic illustration of a monk, and dated interior. We were greeted and had a drink at... More

Had an amazing meal here. Very extensive menu with high quality food served efficiently by genuine friendly, helpful staff. Very cosy feel to the restaurant and we were made to feel very welcome. Perfect place to go for an enjoyable, relaxed meal. Will definitely be visiting again.
