I have only been once and did not like the cod and chips I got as they were too oily. Other locals have also said it is not a great chip shop.

this is my usual chippy and it is very clean (I have never had Chinese from here so I am not going to comment) the food is quick and nice with lovely crispy batter...

This is my local chippy. The chips are usually always good and the fish is usually to a high standard too with crispy batter (I cannot comment on the Chinese menu or other items). Sometimes there is a queue and you need to wait 5-10 minutes but that just means the fish is being cooked to order and not sitting... More

Seems to be staffed by 16 year olds who love to chat amongst themselves. Food is lacklustre and served with indifference. The initial appearance of the upstairs is that it is a student bedsit and the building is dilapidated despite the new signage. Food is not great and the chips are blanched and dumped in a large tray behind the... More

The place is a bit austere and not terribly welcoming and doubles up as a Chinese takeaway and chippy. Plumped for Chinese and pleased to say the food was very good.

I ordered a takeaway from here and when it arrived there was two items missing. I rang to tell them and got into a heated argument because they were refusing to re-deliver the missing items, stating that they would give me the missing items the next time i made an order. I said this is not good enough, i had... More

the title says it all. Went there first time today, place wasn't busy so there's no excuse for the horrible food. Don't bother. Go somewhere else.

The fish on the last couple of times I have used JP has been poor. Soggy batter and pastey cloggy fish. The chips are usually very good though buy overall its gone downhill and they need to get back some high standards here.

Ive been going here for many years and seen it change hands many times, it used to be by far the best place to go for chinese take-away and fish and chips, nowadays, it's still good but has possibly lost it's title. Many other people have complained about the long wait, i found it fine and speedy. We had got... More

I have to say my last two visits to JP have resulted in huge disappointment. Not great is being kind. Chips looked like they had been fried several times before and soaked in cabbage water. Green in colour.
