Good food and cozy atmosphere

Had dinner and drinks here as it was next door to our hotel and came recommended from a local. The bar area was nice and the staff helpful and friendly. The restaurant was busy but not over-crowded and it was good to see locals eating there as well as tourists. The food was great and so was the... read more

We had been eating dinner two times - the clip fish and the burger and not to forget the amazing chocolate desert was very nice. I had a cosmopolitan drink - very nice as well .Even without a reservation (recommended) we go a space for two... But if you are more people - reserve a table

A super interesting environment and good service. There are painting on the wall that show the history of the islands and the feel is very family with a great place to take your business too.

Dring our stay on Svalbard we ate there 3 times.. First day was amazing, fish soup and minky whate was delicious. Hamburgers nice, just a bit too much french frise for me. Second way was dissapointing, boar was chewy and hard to cut. even after our complain we didnt hear anything back from our waiter. 3rd time we had pizza... More

During a recent trip up to Svalbard, my husband and I ate at this restaurant twice. It was located right next to our hotel which was really convenient. Although Svalbard is located so far North and would seem to be a place that would have limited ability to prepare certain foods, we found that Kroa was really great! The first... More

We tried Kroa after a recommendation from a friend. The service was friendly, professional and quick although the food was pretty average for the price. We tried the whale as a starter which was good and full of flavour together with the pear compote. Although our main course of pepper steak as pretty bland and not cooked to our desired... More

We visited Kroa on our first evening in Svalbard. We ate light (we thought we did) as we picked hamburger and nachos, but the portions were large to be a light dinner. Great prices, and lovely atmosphere. Our waiter was also very serviceminded and positive. Our food was quickly made and enjoyed :-) Would absolutely recommend Kroa to other travellers.

We had dinner there after a husky trip. Very cosy place in the centre of Longyearbyen. Very professional and warm service from all staff members, and in particular our Swedish waitress, who was the perfect hostess/waitress. We shared a large pizza, which was really excellent, exceeding our expectations. Very reasonably priced, too (138kr). Beer and wine are also excellent and... More

We had lunch and dinner at Kroa the first night we came to Longyearbyen. It was right next to our hotel, Basecamp Hotel, so it was an easy choice for us. At lunch we both had a burger with fries. The meat was overcooked and the bun was just a cold regular one from the supermarket. There was nothing fresh... More
