We have visited Sosos Taverna at monday night which is the best time to go there because od every-monday "Greek Night" Atmosphere is absolutely fantastic: both in restaurant and in Hersonissos Square (where dancers are performing) Food is very good, we had two starters: grilled paprica, stuffed vine leaves, house vine, mineral water, moussaka and rabbit stew, and two desserts.... We had seen some good reviews on Trip Advisor about Sosos and decided to find it and give it a try. It is the end of the season and the restaurants were all pretty quite but when we found Sosos, apart from a few locals having a drink, the place was empty. About to make an exit the owner, I... More

We booked this restaurant for the Monday greek night after seeing the reviews on trip advisor but we were disappointed with the food. My husband had pancetta which was OK but the fried potatoes served with it were cold and greasy as if they had been stood for a long time. Likewise. my kalamari came with the same old potatoes.... Simple, wholesome cretan food served with a lovely smile. We went to this taverna on Monday night so that we could enjoy the Greek night taking place in the square. After a disastrous evening at another establishment the week before, we checked out trip advisor and booked a table. We were not disappointed this week. First class from start to... More

We had booked a table here to go with our local friend Andreas; he had recommended the place and as a local , we trusted his good judgement. He knew the owner and after they exchanged greetings, the raki appeared on the table as if by magic. This was to be the staple drink of the evening.... We left the... More

One of our best meals on Crete, at very moderate prices, in a lovely place. All the best to Nikos, the owner.

Within 20 minutes of leaving Heraklion airport we got at Sosos and felt that we had truly arrived in Greece. The village itself is beautiful with overhanging trees and an old fountain in the centre. I had booked with Nikos as I knew we were arriving late. He was looking out for us even though the restaurant was full with... More

My family and I visited Sosos twice during our stay at Piskopiano. Both times were on the Greek Night, which is a Monday in the village, an evening not to be missed. We had a great time and were made to feel very welcome by the owner Nikos and his sister. Both times we ordered meze and were impressed by... More

The food here is great value for money and tasty! I had the pork belly - which was large but not too fatty at all - 6 euros I think - plenty of free bread n dips - 5 euros for some nice wine. Total bill for 2 was under 30 euros and this includes 2 lots of wine and... More
