The best restaurant in Crete!

Just like they tell you.....eat where the locals eat. It's easy to see why this place is always full. Small, but charming, very friendly, and absolutely amazing local cuisine. We visited twice - it would've been three times, but one night we couldn't get in. Very reasonable prices too. In fact... read more

We have eaten at David Vegera's many times and have never been disappointed. OK maybe when we can't get in but you can't blame them!! They are gracious people who serve really, really good food. They are exactly who they advertise themselves to be and they never fail to deliver. I am forever in their debt as they single handedly... More

Even if there are many restaurants located next to each other people prefer waiting in a line to get a seat in David Vegera. It is more than obvious that it is worth waiting: traditional meals at reasonable prices, welcoming owners, excellent service and great atmosphere. I showed this place to all of my friends that had a chance to... More

Having visited Crete on multiple occasions, and I find myself continuously returning to Davids time and time again! Davids offers an unspoilt taste of Cretan food that other restaurants just can't match. The food is the freshest you will ever experience! I have tried every dish on the menu and everything is delicious. My particular favourites are the Greek salad,... More

If you wish to eat some greek home made food in the area of Hersonissos, this is the place. It is a family-run taverna, the food is of very good quality and taste, and the prices very reasonable. A must-visit place

I eat here 3-4 times a week! First of all food is amazing, secondly you feel like you are in the home of the Palameras family having diner. Amazing food, amazing service & true greek atmosphere!

This is the place that makes me come back for holiday to Hersonissos area for the 3rd time in a row. Delicious, fresh and tasty Cretan food, friendly stuff and owner. And the prices are very competitive !!! We will be back in July 2015 and for sure will come for the best grilled octopus and Greek salad I have... More

Another must-do taverna. Family run, very good food and friendly service. This is a very busy taverna and there is a queue most nights. Dont miss out, get there early or please wait. The meze choice and price is good. Order a little or a lot. The only problem i could say is that its very cramped, with so many... More

We had two recommendations to come here before we even got to Hersonissos, so we made the walk from Koutouloufari to see what the hype was. We weren't disappointed and actually came back again! We went to many tavernas during our holiday and this was the best we found. The prices and food were perfect! We went early (around 17:30)... More

This restaurant is in a tiny Greek village called Piskopiano and does it proud. It is family-run and fills up very quickly, so try and be there early if you do not have a reservation (opens at 17:00h, closed Sundays). It is frequented by locals and the food reflects that. Prices are very reasonable, so be careful not to order... More
