Tonight was our first night at the Chowder House Cafe, and we will be back. We had the seafood taco's, Twisted noodles, and Savanna's best and they were all three very very good. It also is BYOB, take your own or walk over to carry out.

I went in to the Chowder House, and asked what vegetarian soups were available. Hostess (owner?) replied "clam chowder" and "lobster bisque." I replied, "those are not vegetarian," to which she rudely and inaccurately said "well, there are several different types of vegetarians; some eat fish and chicken, etc." Stunned, I said "I didn't say Pescetarian," and walked out. I... More

We feel their food is exceptional good for such a small restaurant setting. This is not a large restaurant but quality is more upscale and very tasty. I have had a lot of different dishes here that I might not have tried other places because it is for lunch and at prices that were reasonable for what you are offered.... More

Chowder and bisque both were thin not thick or loaded with lobster or clams, dissapointing since we were refered for both. The fish tacos and lobster rolls made up for the chowder all were excellent! Service was excellent, friendly and attentive, we mentioned the chowder, bisque to our server and she agreed it was thinner than how it is normally... More

Asian noodle and Ahi tuna dish was excellent, but all other meals out of 4 were mediocre at best. Will not be going back.

Had been referred to try our this Chowder House Café which we did on a Thursday evening about 5:00. There were only two other couples in there at the time but by 6:00 it filled up very nicely. A local artist owned the building and the prior restaurant that was there about 4 years ago and had painted the interior... More

Visited this place many time before...Always LOVED the lobster bisque. I mean, it was to die for! Past tense unfortunately. It was just luke warm, without much flavor or chunks of lobster. Guess it's a general consensus as the place was dead. And the dessert case completely empty. It's a shame but the place has seriously slipped. At this rate... More

I had the Salmon, my date had the Grouper over “smashed potatoes.” Both were excellent. Might be the best prepared salmon I have ever had. We shared the seafood tacos appetizer, also very good. This was perhaps our third visit and all have been good. The wall decorating is funky & fun, you can check it out on line. It... More

This is the second time my wife and I have eaten at the Chowder House Restaurant and we feel the food was above average. We started with the Lobster Bisque. We have 2 children that went to school in Boston and we are still frequent visitors there and we think the bisque was as good or better than anything we've... More

On a positive note, the decor was charmingly eclectic (but dusty). We came on a very uncrowded Sunday for brunch at noon. Sadly our group of 8 thought the food was mediocre and the service very slow. Some specific examples of the poor quality food were the overdone omelettes, under-cooked french toast, and old tasting coffee. In addition, the menu... More
