We were referred here by the front desk of our hotel during osu move-in weekend. We called to make a reservation and were told they were booked til 8, which worked for us. We figured if they were booked the food had to be good. We walked in & asked to be seated at the sushi bar (our favorite place)... More

We stopped by this restaurant on the way to other city. I am really picky on Japanese food in the States because I am from Japan. I have eaten at so many Japanese restaurant and this would be one of the best Japanese food place. We had two Donburi and rolls. The restaurant is owned by Japanese people and sushi... More

Everything was so fresh and well prepared. The menu was extensive and offered something for everyone - even those who are not seafood fans. Good service, great food. Well worth a try...

Had a great meal here last night! The sashimi and sushi were plentiful in variety and quantity, and we'll priced. The other mains we tried were very tasty too. We had to wait for a table, but that serves us right for turning up at a peak time to a popular restaurant with no booking. Once seated the service was... More

Akai Hana is without a doubt, one of the top three best restaurants in Columbus. We have been going there for the past few years and never had a bad experience. Overall, the staff is not super nice, but the food and the atmosphere easily make up for that. Akai Hana has a very traditional Japanese interior with lots of... More

Noted as one of the best sushi places in town, I enjoy bringing my out of town sushi friends here. They have an excellent selection that will satisfy any sushi fan.

I've had enough sushi in my life to know good sushi and great sushi. This is definitely close to great sushi; certainly for Ohio I don't think you'll find better. Had several varieties of nigiri and two house rolls while sitting at the sushi bar. All fresh and tasty but the rolls in particular set the entire meal apart. Unique... More

We've been going to Akaihanna on a regular basis for the past few years and it remains out favorite. The place can be busy on weekend nights, so call ahead (sometimes 1 or 2 days) to reserve a table to avoid the waiting. The restaurant is not easily identifiable from the street, but it's located behind the Staples store on... More

I've been to Akihanna several dozen times over the last few years, and I've never been dissapointed. Their Smelt Appetizer is to die for, and their Uni & Ikura are always Super-Fresh! However, I must say that the Spicy Scallops & Stone Seafood Bi Bim Bap are my favorites. Expect to spend some money, and don't take too late of... More

My daughter and I visited Akaihana on a Saturday nite. We only had a 20 minute wait but people behind us were being told 45 min to 1 hour... so I would advise to get there early. It is very busy but very good! The food and service were wonderful. The only complaint I would have is that the dinning... More
