too much hype, dissapointing

I have gone there 4 times now, the dining room is tiny, long wait, the entrees have been average at best, and the plaintians, I did not like, mushy, thick. I prefer plaintains to be crispy. Overall, too much hype, not enough good food to put up with the other negatives.

I saw this place rated 4.5 stars on another site and gave it a try. I must have gone to the wrong place! My Giant Burrito was 99% rice, .9% beans and a whisper of shredded chicken and guacamole. "Where's the Beef"? I will say that the fries are fantastic. If you like fries you'll love this place.

Just got done eating a great tasting lunch. I got the 14in Burrito with Spanish fries. Enough for two people. My wife got the Chiquita's lunch special. Wow! Spicy hot but we like it that way. Great little place for kind a change of pace from burgers and sandwiches. Will go back in a second.

Downtown Columbus is the home of this gem. Don't be surprised if you walk in and there is a wait. It is worth the wait!!! El Arepazo has a wide variety of items on their menu from a salad to empanada and a lot in between. Their plantains are delicious. The cilantro sauce is near perfect compliment to their dishes.... This was a great experience end to end! From the cocktail made with Brazillian Rum, to the ceviche appetizer, to my entree (which sadly, I cannot remember the name of, but was made with Shrimp and smashed green plantain!) to the Tres Leches dessert, it was all delicious!! Everyone enjoyed their meal. I will definitely return!

A little difficult to find but more than worth it. The Venezuelan platter was to die for: fried plantains, frijoles con arroz, and your choice of meat. My husband had the patacón with tilapia. Inexpensive & delicious. The cilantro sauce was fantastic..I could have drank it.

Give it a chance as you will not be disappointed! The stuffed arepas are to die for, specially with their extra delicious cilantro sauce!

What a relief to have Venezuelan and Colombian food as an oasis in the middle of a Subway desert. Downtown Columbus has turned into a sandwich and pizza bazaar, it seems. Thank goodness for El Arepazo's arrival a few years ago: it kept the city's lunchtime cuisine from turning into a bland nightmare and, I think, propped the door open... More

This place is awesome. Worth the wait. Completely worth every penny! Love the steak, black bean, and avacado salad. Doesn't feel like cheating on my diet and tastes amazing. I have yet to have anything that hasn't been amazing. Very small inside so either get there early, or get takeout.

Authentic south american food with strong Venezuelan influences. Only opens for lunch and serves very good empanadas. Also don't miss out on the patacons, they are very good.
