We've gone to this restaurant many time over the last 10 years. Consistently great food and service. We're big fans!
There are Mexican restaurants and then there are Northern New Mexico style restaurants. The difference is huge. If you've ever eaten in Santa Fe, or Taos, or Albuquerque, Chile Verde Café is like being there. The salsa and red and green chile are authentic NORTHERN NEW MEXICO STYLE. Don't miss the green chile stew. It's packed with heat. In addition... More
From start to finish a bad experience all around. A friend of ours was crazy about this place, and im not sure why. My family and I stood at the door for nearly five minutes before someone noticed us to be seated. Our waitress was lousy, not friendly and spent more time talking about her personal life that taking care of... To Jason S. Thank you for your comments and honesty, they are truly helpful. So sorry to hear about your terrible experience. Seems as though we failed you across the board from flavor of food to service; this is unacceptable and we will address the weak points so that we can learn, grow and be better. Would love to hear... my wife and I went to the store in the Polaris area. Just in front of Costco. We had been to the original store on Bethel & Sawmill and loved it! This visit was no different, chips were fresh and warm, salsa spicy but not over the top. She had the combo Fajitas---cooked perfectly, the steak was very tender and... More
We had been told by others to check out this restaurant but only this year did we go and we are glad we finally did. Having been to similar New Mexico style places in eastern Arizona, we were pleasantly surprised to fine something so authentic close to home. The food is centered around the pepper sauces which are present in... More
This is one of my favorite Mexican places in Columbus. I've been going there for years, and the food is usually top notch. Chips and salsa are better than average. They also have a hot salsa, if you like it spicy like I do. The green Chile stew is the best. Hot, spicy, comforting. Again, if you like it hot,... More
I've been here before and was not blown away, so I decided to try it again. My second visit was less than spectacular. Overall, their menu was not what I had remembered. It appears to have been paired down a lot. If you like fajitas, then you are set, but for anything else you are plum out of luck. I... More
This is not tex-mex. For that I recommend Senor Antonio's off US 23. This is true to Santa Fe-type food. The margaritas are hand-made and show it. The chips are fresh and the salsa is flavorful. The entrees come with a choice of unusual sides such as roasted corn or black beans. I'm partial to their chile rellenos or stacked... More
I've been coming here for 10+ years. They make the best salsa, hands down. Staff is friendly and service is fast. We recommend the shredded beef burrito. The house-made margaritas are popular too.
NOTE: This review is of the Polaris location. Okay - so maybe the "Cinco de Mayo Every Day" is a bit of a stretch, but not by much. Better Half & I have eaten at both Chile Verdes in Columbus on numerous occasions and they never fail to delight us. We both spent part of our growing-up years in New... More
