This is our absolute favorite restaurant. We have been regulars for several years. At this point, we have tried pretty much every item on the menu (not exaggerating). We have never been disappointed with any visit there. Some of the best items on the menu: filet, lobster dinner, scallops with risotto, crab bisque, strip steak, spicy au gratin potatoes, Durango... We visit on every birthday and never once have had a bad meal or experience. Staff is very friendly and helpful and food is excellent. Also it has a very casual atmosphere especially near the fireplace in the winter. I suggest everyone try it at least once, because you will be back.

We found this to be an excellent restaurant -- a bit pricey but they gave a good amount of food for the money. Would highly recommend!

By far, this is my absolute favorite restaurant. They are quietly tucked in the corner of a shopping center but inside awaits a whole new world. The service is exceptional...every time. And the food? I swear the steak melts in your mouth. You'll definitely want to eat your veggies here because that grilled flavor is something you'll never find anywhere... More

The service and the food at J. Gilberts are outstanding. The oysters (appetizers) are terrific and blue cheese chips (I forget what they are called) were surprisingly good. I really like their bone-in gaucho cut, which is made at the perfect temperature (medium rare). In fact, most of the steaks that I've eaten are really very good, including their filet.... More

This was my first visit to J. Gilbert's. I've been wanting to eat there for a while now. Lucky for me, they were part of restaurant week. The service was exceptional. Our waiter couldn't have been better. He provided insight to the menu, recommendations on the drink menu, and answered our question on the dishes. We went with another couple... More

We (3) ordered the "restaurant week" menu- Caesar salad, filet mignon, coconut cake - and were very pleased, The food was excellent and our server was tops. I would definitely return. Only one complaint ( fussy me) - it was SO cold in the restaurant that I was uncomfortable. Even the gentleman in our group was freezing. When I asked... More

The decor was very nice, the staff was professional and personable, the food was excellent. We loved the presentation of the crab bisque and the steak on the kids' menu was probably the best steak I've ever had (yes, we sneaked a taste from our kid). They were also very accommodating when our child didn't like the flavor of ice... More

I was lucky to find this restaurant last year and ate here two of my three night stay in the area last week. Filets are excellent. The potatoes au gratin are about the best you'll find anywhere. Shrimp cocktail as an appetizer is very good. Servers are attentive. On-line reservations were no hassle.

I was in Columbus and went to JAlexanders and had a dry salmon dinner. I decided to try J. Gilberts which I never heard of before. The steak was to die for. The lobster macaroni and cheese I thought was a fluke but it was wonderful. The service was good. But the steak was extraordinary. I can't wait to go... More
